Christie Mountain is a ski and snowboard area in Bruce, Wisconsin, that opened in 1977. It is in the Blue Hills area of Northern Wisconsin between Rice Lake and Ladysmith.

Christie Mountain is a ski and snowboard area in Bruce, Wisconsin, that opened in 1977. It is in the Blue Hills area of Northern Wisconsin between Rice Lake and Ladysmith.
Christie Mountain ski area was designed and built by George and Pat Sorenson in the 1970s. The Sorensons named the ski area after the Stem christie--the name of a turn used in alpine skiing--and opened it for business in 1977. They designed a series of trails, installed two chairlifts, drilled a well, created a holding pond for snow-making water, and built a chalet.
After operating the business for eight years, the Sorensons sold the operation to Jim and Laura Landreth in 1985. They added a living quarters to the chalet, added new ski runs, and started the legend of the Blue Hills Beast.
David and Sue Vohs purchased Christie Mountain from the Landreths in 1998 and, along with their daughter and son-in-law, The Vohs have added ski, snowboarding, and snow tubing trails (a total of thirty trails). They have also added a natural rock wall climbing area with four 30 foot routes. [1] [2]

Mont Tremblant Ski Resort is a year-round resort in the Laurentian Mountains of Quebec, Canada, located about 130 km (80 mi) northwest of Montreal. It is best known as a ski destination, but also features Lake Tremblant suitable for swimming and two golf courses in the summer months. The name of the mountain, Mont Tremblant, was derived from the Algonquin indigenous people, who called it the "trembling mountain." The summit is at an elevation of 875 m (2,871 ft), which makes it one of the tallest peaks in the Laurentians. One km north of the principal down hill area is the Edge, an area of glade skiing and 2.8 km (1.7 mi) north of that is the true summit, Pic Johanssen, which has a trail over the top and is Black Diamond for skiers and boarders. The resort is owned by Alterra Mountain Company.

The local area forms the newly incorporated town of The Blue Mountains, Ontario. Mont Ripley Ski Area is a ski hill located in Franklin Township, Houghton County, in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The site is just outside the cities of Hancock and Houghton. It is owned by Michigan Technological University. It was founded in the early 1900s by Fred Pabst Jr.. While they were once prevalent, they have been overtaken in popularity by higher-capacity and higher-comfort aerial lifts, such as chairlifts and gondola lifts. Today, surface lifts are most often found on beginner slopes, small ski areas, and peripheral slopes. They are also often used to access glacier ski slopes because their supports can be anchored in glacier ice due to the lower forces and realigned due to glacier movement.
Nub's Nob is a ski area in Pleasantview Township, Michigan, United States. It is near Harbor Springs. Opened by Norman and Dorie Sarns in 1958 as a small ski hill, it has sprawled out to a fairly large ski destination with nine lifts. Brighton's slopes are man-made and reach a maximum height of 230 vertical feet. Contrary to urban legend, Mt. Brighton was never a landfill. Mt. Brighton has 5 chairlifts and 7 surface lifts. Almost all of the snow on Mt. Brighton is created artificially using water stored in an on-site reservoir and industry standard snowmaking equipment.
Bukovel is the largest ski resort in Eastern Europe situated in Ukraine, in Nadvirna Raion, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast (province) of western Ukraine. A part of it is in state property. The resort is located almost on the ridge-lines of the Carpathian Mountains at elevation of 900 m (3,000 ft) above the sea level near the village of Polianytsia. It is one of the most popular ski resorts in the Ukrainian Carpathian Mountains and is situated 30 km (19 mi) southwest of the city of Yaremche. In 2012, Bukovel was named the fastest-growing ski resort in the world.

In the summers, Snow Valley offers weddings, banquet and corporate events. Ski Snow Valley was named "best Ontario hill for kids" by Ski Canada Magazine in 2001.
Perisher Ski Resort is the largest ski resort in the Southern Hemisphere. Located in the Australian Snowy Mountains, the resort is an amalgamation of four villages and their associated ski fields, covering approximately 12 square kilometres (5 sq mi), with the base elevation at 1,720 metres (5,640 ft) AHD, and the summit elevation of 2,054 metres (6,739 ft) at the top of Mount Perisher. 4.4 square kilometres (1.7 sq mi) of this area is covered by 240 snow guns, which are used to artificially supplement the natural snowfall. Perisher was acquired by Vail Resorts, United States on 30 March 2015 for a sum of approximately AU$177 million.

Trollhaugen is a ski resort located in Dresser, Wisconsin. The ski area consists of 30 trails, including 3 terrain parks. In addition to offering ski and snowboard opportunities, Trollhaugen offers 10 lanes of snow tubing during the winter, as well as zip lining and a 120 element aerial challenge course in the summer. Trollhaugen offers NASTAR events throughout the season. Trollhaugen is notable for their terrain park, rated the 3rd best in the Midwest Region by TransWorld Snowboarding Magazine. Trollhaugen is also known for being open until 3am on Friday nights in the winter for late night skiing and snowboarding.
