Christina M. Slade (born 1953) is an Australian academic and author who was Vice-Chancellor of Bath Spa University, England, from 2012 to 2017.
Slade is an Emeritus Professor of Bath Spa University, having held the position of Vice-Chancellor from January 2012 to August 2017. During her time in office she was responsible for the University's strategic plan, financial management, academic quality and the external profile. [1] One of her first projects, which she inherited, was the re-development of the university's Newton Park campus at a cost of £40 million. She was also responsible for driving a successful international student recruitment agenda.
Slade has held a number of senior academic roles including Dean of the Schools of Arts and of Social Sciences, and Shadow Deputy Vice-Chancellor at City University, London (2009–12). She was Dean of Humanities at Macquarie University (2003–9) and Professor of Media Theory at the University of Utrecht, in which capacity she led a €1.25 million seven-nation EU-funded project entitled 'Media and Citizenship: transnational television cultures reshaping political identities in the EU.' [2] At the University of Canberra (2001–3), Slade was Head of School for Creative Communication and developed a suite of modularised online Masters in New Media.
Educated at the Australian National University, she achieved a BA and a PhD in Philosophy (1982). Trained as a philosopher of logic and language, her research has focused on issues of the media since 1990. Her monograph, 'The Real Thing: doing philosophy with media' (2002) examines the role of reason in the media, while 'From Migrant to Citizen: testing language, testing culture', (2010) jointly edited with Martina Möllering, looks at linguistic, legal and philosophical aspects of citizenship testing. Slade has received a total of $5 million in external grants.
Slade is a member of several national and international committees, including University of Gibraltar Academic Board, [3] Association of Commonwealth Universities, [4] Institute of Directors, Royal Society of Arts, and the European Association of International Education. She was also Chair of the Philosophy of Communication Division for the International Communication Association (2004–7). [5] Involved in community organisations, Slade is an Honorary Life Patron for the Society of Philosophy for the Young.
She is married to a former Australian ambassador and has two children.

John Rodney Niland is an Australian academic and board director. Niland obtained a Bachelor and Master of Commerce from UNSW and his PhD is from the University of Illinois. He has held academic positions at Cornell University, The Australian National University, and UNSW. He served as a mediator of labour disputes in the US while at Cornell, and in Australia has undertaken extensive academic and policy work in conflict resolution, theory and practice, particularly enterprise bargaining. John Niland is a Professor Emeritus of UNSW and was its fourth Vice Chancellor and President (1992–2002). Before that he was the Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Economics. While UNSW Vice-Chancellor, he was a founding director of both Universitas 21 and Australia’s Group of Eight Universities. He also served a term as President of the Australian Vice-Chancellors' Committee, and was a member of the Prime Minister's Science, Engineering and Innovation Council.

Michael Gerard L'Estrange is an Australian academic and former public servant. He is the former Head of the National Security College at the Australian National University, in Canberra. L'Estrange had earlier served a long career in the Australian public service including as a diplomat and as Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

She served as the public member on the American Psychological Association Ethics Committee from 2020-2023.

Rosalind Frances Croucher is an Australian lawyer and academic who is the current President of the Australian Human Rights Commission, in office since July 2017. She was previously President of the Australian Law Reform Commission from December 2009 until July 2017, having served as a full-time commissioner since 2007.

María Sefidari Huici was the chair of the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees from July 2018 until June 2021, having been re-elected to the position in August 2019. Sefidari was named a Techweek "Women's Leadership Fellow" in 2014. In 2018, an essay she wrote about the upcoming European copyright reform was widely covered, including by TechCrunch and Boing Boing.
