Christine Comaford is an American businesswoman and author.
In the 1980s, Comaford worked in software engineering roles at Microsoft, Lotus Software, Adobe Systems, and Apple Inc., and served as a strategy adviser to Oracle Corporation and Symantec. [1] [2]
In 1997, she launched the internet promotions firm Planet U, later selling her stake to News Corp. [3] In 1999, she launched Artemis Ventures, which merged with Novus Ventures. [4]
In 2002, Comaford became an early investor in Google and has served on advisory boards for over 36 startup companies. [5]
In the public sector, Comaford contributed to intranet development strategies during the Clinton administration and participated in small business policy efforts under the George W. Bush administration. [6]
Comaford is the author of three books: "Rules for Renegades," "SmartTribes: How Teams Become Brilliant Together," and "Power Your Tribe: Create Resilient Teams in Turbulent Times." [7] She is a Forbes contributor, writing on topics such as leadership, performance, and emotional intelligence in the workplace. [8]
She has spoken at TEDxSanDiego [9] and contributed to the PBS feature, Triumph of the Nerds.
Since 1998, Comaford has volunteered as a hospice patient support worker and is trained as an End-of-Life Doula through the International End of Life Doula Association (INELDA). [10] Comaford was named Volunteer of the Year at the 2024 Heart of Marin Awards by the Center for Volunteer & Nonprofit Leadership. [11]
Comaford has also studied Buddhist philosophy extensively and spent time as a Buddhist nun. [12]
