Christine Laptuta (born 1951) is a Canadian artist who lives and works in Portland, Oregon. [1]
Her work is included in the collections of the National Gallery of Canada, [2] the Museum of Fine Arts Houston [3] and the Portland Art Museum. [1]
The Pacific Northwest College of Art (PNCA) is an art school of Willamette University and is located in Portland, Oregon. Established in 1909, the art school grants Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees and graduate degrees including the Master of Fine Arts (MFA) and Master of Arts (MA) degrees. It has an enrollment of about 500 students. The college merged with Willamette University in 2021.
Edwin Headley Holgate, was a Canadian artist, painter, muralist, and wood-cut artist. Holgate played a major role in Montreal's art community, and the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, where he both studied and taught. He was known primarily as a portraitist and for his treatment of the female nude in an outdoor setting in a series of paintings and prints during the 1930s.

Inspired by Henri Matisse and American abstract expressionist painters like Helen Frankenthaler and Morris Louis, Bush encapsulated joyful yet emotional feelings in his vibrant paintings, comparing them to jazz music. Clement Greenberg described him as a "supreme colorist", along with Kenneth Noland in 1984. Bush explained that capturing the feeling of a subject rather than its likeness was
a hard step for the art loving public to take, not to have the red look like a side of a barn but to let it be the red for its own sake and how it exists in the environment of that canvas.

Dorothea Rockburne DFA is an abstract painter, drawing inspiration primarily from her deep interest in mathematics and astronomy. Her work is geometric and abstract, seemingly simple but very precise to reflect the mathematical concepts she strives to concretize. "I wanted very much to see the equations I was studying, so I started making them in my studio," she has said. "I was visually solving equations." Rockburne's attraction to Mannerism has also influenced her work.

Mary Qayuaryuk, also known as Kudjuakjuk, was an Inuit printmaker and midwife. She settled in Cape Dorset in 1966 after living off the land. She was the first woman elected to the Cape Dorset Community Council and between 1966 and 1982 she worked with the West Baffin Eskimo Co-operative. She was married to Kopapik "A" and three of her daughters also became artists, Qaunaq Mikkigak, Sheokjuke Toonoo, and Laisa Qayuaryuk.
