Christophe Steiner (born 29 December 1958) is a Monegasque banker and politician. He worked for Merrill Lynch from 1991 to 2000. [1] He served as the vice president of the National Council from 2013 to 2016, [2] and he has served as its president from 2016 to 2018,as a member of the New Majority. [1] [3]
The National Council is the unicameral parliament of the Principality of Monaco. Formed in 1911 after the Monégasque Revolution,the National Council initially had 12 members,increased to 18 in 1962 and 24 members since 2002,who are elected from lists by universal suffrage. The National Council is chaired by a president,who was initially appointed by the sovereign prince but has been elected by the National Council members since the year 1962. The current president of the National Council is Thomas Brezzo.

Stéphane Valeri is a Monegasque politician and businessman. He served as the president of the National Council,which is the most powerful elected position in Monaco,between 22 February 2018 and 23 October 2022. He is the former Minister for Social Affairs and Health in Monaco. He served three terms as a National Councillor,and then as its president,but resigned halfway through the second term so that he could serve as a Government Minister.

Christophe Castaner is a French politician who served as Minister of the Interior from 16 October 2018 to 6 July 2020 under President Emmanuel Macron. He had been elected in 2017 for a three-year term as chairman of the La République En Marche! party with Macron's support. Castaner was Government Spokesperson under Prime Minister Édouard Philippe in 2017 and Secretary of State for Relations with Parliament from 2017 to 2018. He was also Macron's 2017 presidential campaign spokesman.
Brigitte Boccone-Pagès is a Monégasque politician,who served as the president of the National Council from 6 October 2022 to 3 April 2024 and was the first woman to hold this position. She was elected vice president of the National Council on 22 February 2018. In October 2022,Boccone-Pagès was elected president of the National Council,following the unexpected resignation of Stéphane Valeri,making her the first woman to hold the position. She chose Balthazar Seydoux as her vice president. On 5 February 2023,she topped the poll as her Monegasque National Union won all 24 seats in the 2023 Monegasque general election.

General elections were held in Monaco on 5 February 2023. The result was a landslide victory for the governing Monegasque National Union led by Brigitte Boccone-Pagès,which won all 24 seats on the National Council. The new council was sworn in on 16 February.
