Maribo is a town in Lolland Municipality in Region Sjælland on the island of Lolland in south Denmark. It was the municipal seat of the former Maribo Municipality, until 1 January 2007, and then it became the seat of the current Lolland Municipality.

Løve Apotek was the first pharmacy in Copenhagen, Denmark. It opened in 1620 and operated until its closing in 1971, for a total of approximately 350 years. For the entire duration of its existence, it was located at the corner of Amagertorv and Hyskenstræde. The most recent building that it occupied was built for the pharmacy in 1908.

Frantz Christopher Henrik Hohlenberg was a Danish naval officer who specialised in ship design and had little seagoing experience. He succeeded Ernst Wilhelm Stibolt as Master Shipbuilder (fabriksmester) at the Royal Danish Dockyards in 1796. His ships included five ships of the line and 18 frigates. Three of the ships of the line and nine of the frigates were captured at the 1807 Battle of Copenhagen and subsequently added to the Royal Navy. He resigned after a controversy in 1803.
Alfred Benzon was a Danish pharmacist, businessman and politician. He was responsible for the considerable expansion of the family's pharmaceutical company Alfred Benzon A/S. He was also the proprietor of the Swan Pharmacy in Copenhagen. He chaired the Pharmaceutical Society of Denmark from 1894 until 1926. He was also active in politics, both as a member of the Copenhagen City Council from 1896 to 1908 and the Danish parliament from 1901 to 1903.
Alfred Nicolai Benzon was a Danish pharmacist and industrialist. He was the proprietor of the Swan Pharmacy on Østergade in Copenhagen and founder of Denmark's first pharmaceutical company Alfred Benzon A/S. The company was later continued by his sons Alfred and Otto Benzon.
Gerhard Cassius Faye was a Danish pharmacist and factory manager. He was one of the key figures in the emerging sugar beet industry on Lolland-Falster in the late 19th century.
