Circuit Showdown was a Philippine auto racing series that began in 2010 and was organized by Enzo Pastor and Dalia Pastor. [1] It was the only circuit racing series in the country that is open to both amateur and professional drivers.[ citation needed ]
The series runs throughout the year alternating between the major race venues in the Philippines, including the Clark International Speedway (CIS), and the Batangas Racing Circuit. In 2010, the series ran a few legs on the now defunct Subic International Raceway (SIR). [2] [3]
Teams from all over the country ranging from car clubs to manufacturers participate. Each team accumulates points through each driver's points. The team with the most points are declared Team Champion at the end of the season. Points are awarded to the top ten drivers in each bracket and points added to each bracket they qualify in. At the end of the season, each of the six brackets for the time trials will have a winner as well as three brackets for the grid.
The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, LLC (NASCAR) is an American auto racing sanctioning and operating company that is best known for stock car racing. The privately owned company was founded by Bill France Sr. in 1948, and his son, Jim France, has been the CEO since August 6, 2018. The company is headquartered in Daytona Beach, Florida. In motorsports, the pole position is the position at the front at the start of a racing event. This position may be inside or outside of the front row, depending on where the racing line is on the particular circuit, but it will always be ahead of the other vehicle(s) on the front row. This position is typically given to the vehicle and driver with the best qualifying time in the trials before the race. This number-one qualifying driver is referred to as the pole-sitter.
International Race of Champions (IROC) was a North American auto racing competition, created by Les Richter, Roger Penske and Mike Phelps, promoted as an equivalent of an American motorsports All-Star Game. Despite its name, the IROC was primarily associated with North American, oval-track racing.
The Trans-Am Series is a sports car racing series held in North America. Founded in 1966, it is sanctioned by the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA).
Time Attack is a type of motorsport in which the racers compete for the best lap time. Each vehicle is timed through numerous circuits of the track. The racers make a preliminary circuit, then run the timed laps, and then finish with a cool-down lap.
Richmond Raceway (RR) is a 0.75 miles (1.21 km), D-shaped, asphalt race track located just outside Richmond, Virginia in unincorporated Henrico County. It hosts the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Known as "America's premier short track", it has formerly hosted events such as the International Race of Champions, Denny Hamlin Short Track Showdown, and the USAC sprint car series. Due to Richmond Raceway's unique "D" shape which allows drivers to reach high speeds, Richmond has long been known as a short track that races like a superspeedway. With its multiple racing grooves, and proclivity for contact Richmond is a favorite among NASCAR drivers and fans.
Southside Speedway was a short track used for stock car auto racing located just South of Richmond, Virginia in Chesterfield County. On Dec 11, 2020, the track announced it would be closing permanently after the 2020 season was cancelled due to COVID-19. It is a .333-mile (0.536 km) asphalt oval owned and operated by Sue Clements and Patsy Stargardt. The track originally canceled the 2011 racing season after announcing that owner Sue Clements was battling health problems. However, a shortened 11-week 2011 season took place, which saw the return of the Legends and Pro Six divisions.
The Toyota All-Star Showdown was a nonpoints, all-star race that brought together the top drivers in NASCAR's lower-level series.
The Grand Finale, also known as the V8 Ultimate and as The Main Event, was the auto race held as the final round of the V8 Supercar Championship Series from 2001 to 2008. In those years, it was held at Sandown Raceway, Eastern Creek Raceway, the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit and Oran Park Raceway.
Superleague Formula was an open wheel single seater motor racing formula, which started in 2008, at Donington Park in the United Kingdom. The league introduced team sponsorship by association football clubs. It used the slogan 'The Beautiful Race: Football at 300 km/h'. By 2011 the link with football was fading with more than half the teams no longer associated with football teams. It was founded by businessmen Alex Andreu and Robin Webb. On 19 May 2010, Andreu stepped down in his role as series president, with Alfredo Brisac named as his successor not many weeks later. The season ran between April and November at the same time as most other European race series. Every team used identical cars and 750-horsepower V-12 engines. The Sonangol Group was the series' title sponsor from June 2009 until the end of the 2010 season.
The 2000 Australian Super Touring Car Championship was a CAMS sanctioned motor racing competition open to Super Touring Cars. It was the eighth running of an Australian series for Super Touring Cars and the sixth to be contested under the Australian Super Touring Championship name. The series, which was promoted as the '2000 BOC Gases Australian Super Touring Championship', began on 28 May 2000 at Oran Park Raceway and ended on 11 February 2001 at Oran Park Raceway after eight rounds.

Scott Steckly is a Canadian professional stock car racing driver and team owner. In his nine years competing in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, he drove the No. 22 Dodge Charger for his own 22 Racing team. He is the 2008, 2011, 2013, and 2015 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Champion. He currently fields the No. 18 Chevrolet Camaro full-time for Alex Tagliani, the No. 22 Camaro full-time for Marc-Antoine Camirand, and the No. 24 Camaro full-time for Donald Theetge.
The 2004 Konica Minolta V8 Supercar Series was an Australian touring car series held for V8 Supercars. It was the fifth series held for second tier V8 Supercars. The season began on 22 February 2004 at Wakefield Park and finished on 22 August at Mallala Motor Sport Park. The season consisted of six rounds held across four different states, returning to Queensland for the first time since 2001.
Carl Rydquist is a Swedish-American FIA Silver and Trans-Am racing driver and a SAG-AFTRA licensed stunt and precision driver who has won many auto races and racing championships. Rydquist gained notoriety for his speed in 2001 when he beat more than 1100 enthusiasts and professional racedrivers in a gocart challenge created by Eurosport to promote their Super Racing Weekend FIA GT and ETCC sports coverage. The event propelled him to his first GT Endurance ride with Apex Racing's Porsche. Rydquist actively competes in racing and has competed in professional drifting. In Rydquist's auto racing career, he currently has a victory in more than one third of his races and podium finishes in three out of four Touring and GT car endurance and sprint races.
Tim Schendel is an American professional stock car racing driver. A past winner of the Toyota All-Star Showdown and champion of the NASCAR Midwest Tour, he has also competed in the NASCAR Nationwide Series and the ASA Midwest Tour.
BriSCA Formula 2 Stock Cars is a class of single seater auto racing in the UK. Cars are custom-built and race on oval tracks of either shale or tarmac of up to a quarter-mile in length. The tracks they race on are surrounded by either steel plate or post and wire fences to keep the cars on the track. Racing involves contact, drivers are allowed to push, punt or spin fellow competitors out of the way. The cars are very strong and are of an open wheel design, but are designed with the contact element in mind, with front and rear bumpers and a sturdy chassis and roll cage.
Formula Alfa is a junior racing formula for single seater cars. It is intended to function as the young kart racing graduate's first experience of car racing.
Paolo Angelo Lofamia is a Filipino racing driver, who last competed as a Team Staginglanes/W-Autosports driver from 2013-2017. Lofamia made his racing debut at the 2013 Circuit showdown race series. Lofamia rose to fame in 2014 by winning 3 Races and by being on the podium every single race in that season using a race prepped Honda civic built by Vannitec Racing. Lofamia captured the first ever Grid D Championship of the series and on that same year he also won the Time Attack Championship in bracket F, a feat that only a few drivers had accomplished. Lofamia is also included in the prestigious list as one of the elite drivers of the late Enzo Pastor's circuit showdown race series, He is regarded as one of the "COC", Champion of Champions.
The European Drag Racing Championship is a combination of four Drag Racing categories that have competed in six events since 1996. The European Drag Racing Season is held from May to September in four countries; UK, Sweden, Finland and Germany. Each drag race category pairs two drivers that compete against each other and the winner is the racer with the lowest reaction time and elapsed time over a designated destination. The drivers are adjudicated points for their performance at each stage which are tallied for a given season.
