The City Controller of Philadelphia is chief auditor for the city of Philadelphia. It conducts audits independent from City Council and the Mayor and provides it to the public. It also provides information on how to improve city operations and use of public resources. [1]

The current city controller is Christy Brady who was appointed by Mayor Jim Kenney after Rebecca Rhynhart resigned. [2]

Duties

The city controller serves as the chief auditor for the City of Philadelphia and School District of Philadelphia. It serves as on the Board of Pensions, Philadelphia Gas Works, and Sinking Fund Commission. It is independent of the Council and Mayor and charged with operating their operations. [3]
