City Sprouts is a community garden, urban farm, and educational resource center in the Orchard Hill neighborhood of Omaha, Nebraska. Founded in 1995, City Sprouts is the oldest community garden in the city. The organization is registered as a 501(c)(3) not-for profit entity.

Through gardening with City Sprouts, students are provided the opportunity to develop employment skills. [2] The Executive Director of City Sprouts is Roxanne Williams.
City Sprouts formed as a group in 1995, as a response to help foster community connection after a murder that had occurred in the Orchard Hill neighborhood. [3] Michael V. McNealy was one of the founding members of City Sprouts.
City Sprouts hosts regular events and workshops in the Learning Center, including classes on topics such as permaculture, and canning and preserving. [4]
One of the main fundraising events for City Sprouts each year is a Gala in the fall, frequently hosted at Lauritzen Gardens. [3]

South Omaha is a former city and current district of Omaha, Nebraska, United States. The Kountze Place neighborhood of Omaha, Nebraska is a historically significant community on the city's north end. Today the neighborhood is home to several buildings and homes listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is located between North 16th Avenue on the east to North 30th Street on the west; Locust Street on the south to Pratt Street on the north. Kountze Place was annexed into Omaha in 1887. Little Bohemia, or Bohemian Town, is a historic neighborhood in Omaha, Nebraska. Starting in the 1880s, Czech immigrants settled in this highly concentrated area, also called "Praha" (Prague) or "Bohemian Town", bounded by South 10th Street on the east, South 16th Street on the west, Pierce Street on the north, and Martha Street on the south, with a commercial area went along South 13th and South 14th Streets, centered on William Street. It was located south of downtown, and directly west of Little Italy. A portion of the neighborhood along South 13th Street was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2020.
Hanscom Park is a historic neighborhood in Midtown Omaha, Nebraska. Its namesake public park is one of the oldest parks in Omaha, donated to the City in 1872. U.S. President Gerald R. Ford was born in a house in the Hanscom Park neighborhood. Its boundaries are Center Street on the north, South 42nd on the west, Interstate 480 on the east and I-80 on the south.
Walnut Hill is a historic neighborhood located in north Omaha, Nebraska. It is bounded by North 40th Street on the east, Cuming Street on the south, Northwest Radial Highway and Saddle Creek Road on the west and Hamilton Street on the north.
Ottawa is a neighborhood in west central Toledo, Ohio, bordered by Secor Road to the West, Dorr Street to the South, Central Ave. to the North, and Upton and Monroe to the East and North. The neighborhood's boundaries are Hamilton Street on the south, Blondo Street on the north, 36th Street on the east and the Omaha Belt Line on the west. The John A. Creighton Boulevard runs through the eastern part of the neighborhood.

Barnesville is a scenic rural community in the province of New Brunswick within the country of Canada. There are several small brooks, the Hammond River, and a lake in the area often used for sport fishing. There is one store and three churches. A commercial greenhouse supplies flower baskets for local garden centers and retail stores and employs several people from the surrounding area. A community garden--Barnesville and Area Community Garden--was formed in the spring of 2015 by a group of local volunteers, with 30 allotments in use and 13 participants in the first year. It is located behind the Presbyterian church. The group offers free and low-cost gardening workshops for the public. Only one fully operational farm--specializing in beef cattle--remains in the community. However, Weatherby's Peak Berry Orchard is now in its initial stage of planting (2015). The planned 8 acre orchard will include honey berries, raspberries and high bush blueberries. It will also be a source of employment for local residents. Data on population is not collected by Statistics Canada. Barnesville is known for its 'May Run' which is an annual unofficial event when off-road enthusiasts bring their trucks, atvs, and home-made vehicles to drive the backwoods trails. There are various trail systems for atvs in the area. A weekly Kitchen Party often attracts upwards of 70 people, with as many as 20 musicians and singers.
The Carver Savings and Loan Association opened in 1944 as the first African-American financial institution in Omaha, Nebraska. Located at 2416 Lake Street next to the historic North 24th Street corridor, it was in the heart of the Near North Omaha neighborhood, and Omaha's African-American business district.
Gateway Greening is non-profit organization based in St. Louis, Missouri that works to educate and empower the community through gardening and urban agriculture. The organization operates demonstration and community resource gardens and an urban farm, hosts lectures and education programs, and supports school and community gardens throughout the City and St Louis County, Missouri.
Philadelphia Parks & Recreation (PPR) is the municipal department responsible for managing parks, recreation centers, playgrounds, trails, community gardens, and historic properties in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Its inventory includes more than 150 parks and 170 recreation centers and playgrounds. It became the successor to the Fairmount Park Commission and the City of Philadelphia Department of Recreation in 2010.
