History

Civil Service (Wrexham) first appear in the local press in May 1876 among the Cricket fixtures. [1] The following year the football team participated in the inaugural Welsh Cup competition. [2] [3]

The 1876 association football match between the national teams representing Scotland and Wales was the first game played by the latter side. It took place on 25 March 1876 at Hamilton Crescent, Partick, the home ground of the West of Scotland Cricket Club. The match was also the first time that Scotland had played against a side other than England.

Alfred Davies was a Welsh amateur footballer who played most of his football career with Wrexham, with whom he won the inaugural Welsh Cup in 1878. Playing at outside-left, he also made two appearances for Wales in 1876 and 1877.

Wrexham Victoria F.C. were a Welsh football club based in Wrexham, Wales.

Rhosllanerchrugog F.C. were a Welsh football team from the village of Rhosllanerchrugog, Wrexham. In November 2018, it was announced that Ben Barlow, vocalist of the Welsh pop-punk band Neck Deep, had signed for the club. As of September 2018 Manager Jeff Owen and assistant managers Matt Griffiths and Wes Roberts are the current coaching staff. In December 2019 the club resigned from the league, effectively merging with Johnstown Youth.
