Bangor is a city in and the county seat of Penobscot County, Maine, United States. The city proper has a population of 31,753, making it the state's third-most populous city, behind Portland (68,408) and Lewiston (37,121). Bangor is known as the “Queen City.”
Old Town is a city in Penobscot County, Maine, United States. The population was 7,431 at the 2020 census. The city's developed area is chiefly located on the relatively large Marsh Island, but its boundaries extend beyond it. Interstate 95 (I-95) is a part of the Interstate Highway System that runs north–south from Miami, Florida to Houlton, Maine. The Bangor City Forest also known as the Rolland F. Perry City Forest is a large recreation area in Bangor, Maine. The park consists of approximately 650 acres (2.6 km2) and features close to 10 miles (16 km) of hiking, cycling, and cross-country skiing trails. The trail system is well maintained and most trails are packed gravel. Although primarily a recreational area, it is technically a "working forest."

Zillman Art Museum-University of Maine (ZAM) is an art museum in downtown Bangor, Maine. It is part of the University of Maine, which is located in nearby Orono, Maine. The University of Maine Art Collection was established in 1946, under the leadership of Vincent Hartgen. As the initial faculty member of the Department of Art and curator of the art collection, Hartgen's goal was to provide the people of Maine with significant opportunities to experience and learn about the visual arts and their diverse histories and cultural meanings.
The Raymond H. Fogler Library is an academic library at the University of Maine in Orono. The library's collections include approximately more than 1 million volumes, nearly 4 million periodical subscriptions, 1.6 million microforms, 2.2 million United States Federal, Maine State, and Canadian federal and provincial government publications.
C. Parker Crowell (1876–1959) was an American architect in practice in Bangor, Maine, from 1902 until his retirement in 1956. Crowell and his firm would design over 1000 buildings in the course of his career. The firm Crowell co-founded is still in business as WBRC.
The Maine Savings Amphitheater is an open-air amphitheater located within the Waterfront Park in Bangor, Maine. The venue is a temporary structure built alongside the Penobscot River. The venue typically operates from July until October.
Mildred Brown "Brownie" Schrumpf was an American home economist, food educator, and author. Named the "Unofficial Ambassador of Good Eating" by the Maine Department of Agriculture, she wrote a weekly food column for the Bangor Daily News from 1951 to 1994 promoting traditional Maine recipes. She was the main proponent of the claim that the chocolate brownie was invented in Bangor. She was inducted into the Maine Women's Hall of Fame in 1997.
