A part of the Vinings, Smyrna, Cumberland (VSC) area, it is located next to the affluent West Paces Ferry section of Buckhead in northwest Atlanta. The United States Postal Service assigns both "Atlanta" to the ZIP Code (30339) that includes Vinings.

Interstate 285 (I-285) is an Interstate Highway loop encircling Atlanta, Georgia, for 63.98 miles (102.97 km). It connects the three major interstate highways to Atlanta: I-20, I-75 and I-85. Colloquially referred to as The Perimeter, it also carries unsigned State Route 407 (SR 407), and is signed as Atlanta Bypass on I-75/I-85.
Ernest W. Barrett Parkway is a major thoroughfare in the northwestern part of the Atlanta metropolitan area, in the north-central part of Cobb County, in the U.S. state of Georgia. It travels from the southeastern edge of Kennesaw to a point north of Marietta, and continues on in both directions under other names. The portion of Barrett Parkway between Interstate 575 (I-575/SR 5) and US 41/SR 3 is designated State Route 5 Connector. The road is named after Ernest W. Barrett, the first chairman of the Cobb County Board of Commissioners in the 1960s, after home rule was enacted under a Georgia State Constitution amendment. The initial portion was constructed through Barrett family land, enabling it to be later sold for major development.
Interstate 695 was a 1964-proposed auxiliary Interstate Highway that would have connected Interstate 95 in Southwest Philadelphia, at the Philadelphia International Airport, with I-95 near the Delaware River waterfront near the Benjamin Franklin Bridge. Known as the Cobbs Creek Expressway between SW Philadelphia and Interstate 76 and the Crosstown Expressway between I-76 and the waterfront, I-695 was designed to provide connections to the Philadelphia International Airport and become part of a Center City Loop, with the Crosstown Expressway being the southern section of that loop.
Cumberland Mall is a shopping mall in the Cumberland district of Metropolitan Atlanta near the suburbs of Smyrna and Vinings. It was the largest shopping mall in Georgia when it opened on August 8, 1973.
The Cobb Galleria Centre is a meeting and convention center in the Cumberland/Galleria district of Cobb County, in northwest Atlanta, Georgia, in the United States. It is also located next to a cluster of mid-rise office buildings, Cumberland Mall, Truist Park, The Battery Atlanta and the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. It has hosted over 20,000 events and 10 million of guests. The venue operates under the direction of the Cobb-Marietta Coliseum and Exhibit Hall Authority and is located at the intersection of three major highways: Interstate 75, Interstate 285, and Cobb Parkway just northwest of the city. The Galleria Specialty Mall, which pre-dates the convention center, is located downstairs, with meeting halls upstairs.

It is situated ten miles (16 km) northwest of downtown Atlanta. With approximately 122,000 workers and 103,000 residents, Cumberland is the region's fifth-largest business district, and is marked by several modern skyscrapers rising from the wooded hills above the freeways.
Chattahoochee Technical College is a public technical college in the U.S. state of Georgia. It is governed by the Technical College System of Georgia and has eight campuses in the north-northwest metro-Atlanta area, and another just outside the region. It is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACS) to award technical certificates of credit, diplomas, and associate degrees. The college was formed in 2009 as the result of the merger of Appalachian Technical College, Chattahoochee Technical College, and North Metro Technical College.
SoNo is a sub-district of downtown Atlanta, Georgia, just south of Midtown. The area was defined and named by T. Brian Glass while working on a rezoning committee with Central Atlanta Progress in 2005 in order to better establish an identity for the area and give it a hipper image. SoNo refers to the area of Downtown bounded by North Avenue on the north, Central Park Place on the east and the Downtown Connector (Interstate-75/85) on the west and south.

Mount Wilkinson is a low mountain immediately north-northwest of and directly overlooking downtown Vinings, in southeast Cobb County, Georgia, USA. Although it rises significantly from the surrounding terrain, it is actually at or slightly below the average elevation for the region, as it is in the Chattahoochee River valley. Formerly called Signal Mountain, today it is commonly known as Vinings Mountain.

The Combined Statistical Area spans up to 39 counties in north Georgia and has an estimated 2017 population of 6,555,956. Atlanta is considered a "beta(+) world city." It is the third largest metropolitan region in the Census Bureau's Southeast region behind Greater Washington and Greater Miami.
East Cobb is an unincorporated community in Cobb County, Georgia, United States, with a population of about 175,890 people. It is an affluent northern suburb of Atlanta.
Paces is a neighborhood of Atlanta. It is part of the Buckhead district and located in the far northwest corner of the city. Paces is bounded on the northwest by the Chattahoochee River, which is also the Cobb/Fulton county line. Just across the river in Cobb is the unincorporated community of Vinings, which was originally known as Paces after founder Hardy Pace, who operated Pace's Ferry. Cumberland is also located on the other side of the river. It is perhaps Atlanta's most affluent neighborhood, with many of the homes selling in the $5–$7 million range, and some reaching upwards of $20 million.
