Waverley Park was an Australian rules football stadium in Mulgrave, Victoria, Australia. For most of its history, its purpose was as a neutral venue and used by all Victorian-based Victorian Football League/Australian Football League clubs. However, during the 1990s it became the home ground of both the Hawthorn and St Kilda football clubs. It ceased to be used for AFL games from the 2000 season, following the opening of Docklands Stadium. It is currently used as a training venue by Hawthorn. The main grandstand and oval are listed on the Victorian Heritage Register. The seating capacity is now 6,000, down from a peak of 72,000.
The Coleman Medal is an Australian rules football award given annually to the Australian Football League (AFL) player who kicks the most goals in the home-and-away season. It is named after John Coleman, a full forward and Australian Football Hall of Fame Legend who scored 537 goals in 98 games for Essendon. The award was first presented in 1981 to Richmond's Michael Roach, who scored 86 goals for the season. At the time, the competition was known as the Victorian Football League (VFL); it would become the AFL in 1990.

The 1968 VFL Golden Fleece Night Premiership was the Victorian Football League end of season cup competition played in September and October of the 1968 VFL Premiership Season. Run as a knock-out tournament, it was contested by the eight VFL teams that failed to make the 1968 VFL finals series. It was the 13th VFL Night Series competition. Games were played at the Lake Oval, Albert Park, then the home ground of South Melbourne, as it was the only ground equipped to host night games. Hawthorn won its first night series cup defeating North Melbourne in the final by 61 points.
Colin Alexander is a former Australian rules footballer who was recruited from the Clarence Football Club in Tasmania to play in the Victorian Football League. He played 24 games for Collingwood between 1989–1991, and after a lack of opportunities and injuries at Collingwood, he moved to the Brisbane Bears and played five games from 1992–1993. His best VFL/AFL season was his debut season, 1989. He played 14 games and kicked 18 goals, with his best game being a career high four goals in a round 6 match against Melbourne at the MCG. Due to injuries his career was shortened but he would later return to the Clarence Football Club and star in the Tasmanian Football League for many years in the mid to late 1990s.
