Colin Thomas (born March 16, 1991) is a Canadian curler from St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. [3] He is currently the third for Nathan Young on the World Curling Tour.
In 2011, Colin Thomas competed in the 2011 CIS/CCA Curling Championships as the skip for the Memorial University of Newfoundland team. Thomas would go on to defeat Brendan Bottcher in the semi-finals, and then James Coleman in the finals on his way to winning the first championship for the Memorial University Seahawks. [4]
In 2021, Thomas would skip his own rink in the 2021 Newfoundland and Labrador Tankard. They would finish the round robin tied with Andrew Symonds, and win the tiebreaker. The Thomas rink would find themselves in the finals against Greg Smith [5] where they would lose 9–8 in a double extra end.
In 2024, Thomas would find himself as the third for the Andrew Symonds rink. In the 2024 Newfoundland and Labrador Tankard, they would make it to the finals against Greg Smith. They would find themselves defeating Smith and claiming the championship, as well as qualifying themselves for the 2024 Montana's Brier. [6] This would be the first brier that Thomas would qualify for.
Thomas is an assistant controller for Air Borealis. He has three children. [3] His father is past Newfoundland and Labrador coach, Jeff Thomas. [7]
Bradley Raymond Gushue, ONL is a Canadian curler from St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. Gushue, along with teammates Russ Howard, Mark Nichols, Jamie Korab and Mike Adam, represented Canada in curling at the 2006 Winter Olympics, where they won the gold medal by defeating Finland 10–4. He also represented Canada at the 2022 Winter Olympics, where he won a bronze medal. In addition to the Olympics, Gushue won the 2017 World Men's Curling Championship with teammates Mark Nichols, Brett Gallant, and Geoff Walker. He is a record six-time Brier champion skip, having won in 2017, 2018, 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024 all with Nichols, Gallant and Walker, except for 2023 and 2024 with E. J. Harnden replacing Gallant. Their win in 2017 was Newfoundland and Labrador's first Brier title in 41 years. At the 2018 Tim Hortons Brier, Gushue set a new record for Brier game wins as a skip, breaking a three-way tie with previous record-holders Russ Howard and Kevin Martin.
Glenn William Howard is a retired Canadian curler who is one of the most decorated curlers of all time. He has won four world championships, four Briers and 17 Ontario provincial championships, including a record eight straight, from 2006 to 2013. He has made 20 Brier appearances, playing in a total of 227 games, the third most of any curler. He has won a career 14 Grand Slams, won the 2001 TSN and 2013 Dominion All-Star Skin Games and the 2010 Canada Cup of Curling.

Geoff Walker is a Canadian curler, currently living in Edmonton, Alberta. He currently plays lead for the Brad Gushue rink. He was the Men's World Champion in 2017 and won silver the following year in 2018. A six-time national champion, he won the Brier in 2017, 2018, 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024. Walker was a two-time World Junior Champion when he won gold in 2006 and 2007.

The 2019 Newfoundland and Labrador Men's Curling Championship, the men's provincial curling championship for Newfoundland and Labrador, was held from January 29 to February 3 at the Bally Haly Golf & Curling Club in St. John's. The winning Andrew Symonds team represented Newfoundland and Labrador at the 2019 Tim Hortons Brier, Canada's national men's curling championship in Brandon, Manitoba.
The 2020 Tim Hortons Brier, Canada's national men's curling championship, was held from February 29 to March 8 at the Leon's Centre in Kingston, Ontario. The winning Brad Gushue rink was scheduled to represent Canada at the 2020 World Men's Curling Championship at the Commonwealth Arena in Glasgow, Scotland.
The 2021 Tim Hortons Brier, Canada's national men's curling championship, was held from March 5 to 14 at the Markin MacPhail Centre at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary, Alberta.
The 2021 Newfoundland and Labrador Tankard, the men's provincial curling championship for Newfoundland and Labrador, was held from January 27 to 31 at the RE/MAX Centre in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. The winning Greg Smith rink represented Newfoundland and Labrador at the 2021 Tim Hortons Brier, Canada's national men's curling championship in Calgary, Alberta. The event was held in conjunction with the 2021 Newfoundland and Labrador Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the provincial women's championship.

Team Canada, who was skipped by Brad Gushue won their third straight Brier Tankard and represented Canada at the 2024 World Men's Curling Championship at the KSS Sports Complex in Schaffhausen, Switzerland where they won the silver medal.
