Collarbone is a rock band from Helsinki, Finland, founded in 2000. Influences from alternative rock and hard rock can be heard in the group's music. The band has released two full-length albums. [1] [2]
The four founding members, Thomas Kirjonen, Janne Suominen, Matti Piipponen and Janne Sivunen formed the band in late 2000. The band made three demo recordings and an EP called "Devil in Miss Verril", which was released in 2004. The band signed a record deal with Spinefarm Records after winning Ääni ja Vimma (Sound and Fury), a major Finnish band contest, in 2005. [3]
The band's debut album, The Back of Beyond, was released in March 2007. It was produced by Jonas Olsson, mixed by Jens Bogren and mastered by Ue Nastasi in Sterling Sound, New York City. The single "The Last Call" was played on Finland's Radio Rock, and was included on the soundtrack of the TV show Äijät on Finnish SubTV. [4]
In late 2008 the band added to its lineup guitarist Mikko Merilinna, notable for his work in the Finnish metal band April. Collarbone's second album, Pretty Dirty, was recorded in summer 2009, Jonas Olsson again being the producer. [5] Risto Hemmi mixed the record in January 2010 in Finnvox Studios, Helsinki. [6]
The first single from the new album, The Machine, was released in March 2010. The record was released via Universal Music in April 2010.
Silence is the second full-length album by Finnish power metal band Sonata Arctica, released in 2001 through Spinefarm Records. It is the only studio album to feature keyboardist Mikko Härkin, and the first album with original member Marko Paasikoski, who returned to the band the previous year. Stratovarius lead singer Timo Kotipelto sang guest vocals on the album.
CMX, originally Cloaca Maxima, is a Finnish rock band. They originally played hardcore punk, but soon expanded to play a wide variety of rock formats, including progressive rock, heavy metal, and mainstream rock 'n' roll. Throughout their career, they have been influenced by progressive rock bands such as Rush, Yes, Tool and King Crimson. The progressive influence is most evident on their albums Dinosaurus Stereophonicus (2000) and Talvikuningas (2007).
Ensiferum is a Finnish folk metal band from Helsinki. The members of the band label themselves as "melodic folk metal".
Mirror of Madness is the second full-length studio album by the Finnish melodic death metal band Norther, released on 12 July 2003 by Spinefarm Records. Mirror of Madness features a cover song, "Smash" by punk rock band The Offspring. It also includes the "Mirror of Madness" video but only in the U.S. The bonus tracks, "Frozen Sky" and "Smash" covers, are only for the Japanese version of the album.
Dreams of Endless War is the debut album by the Finnish melodic death metal band Norther. It was released on 18 July 2002 by Spinefarm Records. The songs; "Victorious One" and "Endless War" are demo songs from Warlord, while the song "Warlord" from the demo was renamed as "Endless War" and are identical tracks. "Released" was released as a single and made into a music video.
Hell of a Tester is the third studio album by The Rasmus, then called Rasmus. It was released in 1998 by Warner Music and received Gold status in Finland. The most popular single was Liquid, which was released in September, getting into the Top 40 on MTV Nordic. It was voted Single of the Year for 1998 by music critics and fans and the video won an award in 1999 at the Finnish Music Video Awards. The album was positively received by fans.
Kiuas are a Finnish heavy metal band from Espoo, Finland. Their music includes influences from power metal, folk metal and different styles of extreme metal. Influences from progressive metal can also be heard in some songs.
The Spirit of Ukko is the debut studio album by the Finnish heavy metal band Kiuas, released on May 4, 2005 by Spinefarm Records. "Ukko" in Finnish mythology is the greatest of the pagan gods and is a Finnish male name. The Japanese version features a bonus song eponymously titled from the Winter in June EP. The third quarter piece of the song, "Across the Snows" is sung in Finnish.
Masterplan is the German power metal band Masterplan's self-titled debut album, released in 2003 by AFM Records. The album received many good reviews and entered the charts at high positions. The album was voted album of the month in Sweden Rock Magazine, Rock Hard and Heavy, Oder Was?! in Germany and Metal Factory in Switzerland. The band received the "European Border Breakers Award" in 2004 from the European Commission, for the album sales around Europe.
Successor is an EP by Sonata Arctica, released through Spinefarm Records on 7 August 2000.

Reformation is the second studio album from the Finnish heavy metal band Kiuas. Released on May 24, 2006 by Spinefarm Records, some versions include a cover of Jethro Tull's "Hunting Girl".
Deep Insight is a rock band from Helsinki, Finland. The band was formed in early 2002 by childhood friends Jukka (vocals) and Johannes (guitar). They were later joined by Miska (bass) and Ville (drums). Their music is a mixture of American and emo rock, with Scandinavian influences. As of 2008 they had played more than 400 shows in 20 countries. The single Hurricane Season reached number one on the Finnish Singles Chart in 2005, retaining its position for six weeks.
Mannhai is a Finnish stoner rock band from Helsinki. The band was formed in late 1999 by bass player Olli-Pekka "Oppu" Laine and guitarist Ilkka "Ile" Laaksomaa. Soon they were accompanied by a young drummer, Mikko "Junior" Pietinen, and the following year by lead singer Jani "Joãnitor" Muurinen.
The Latebirds are a rock band from Helsinki, Finland. The band was formed in 2000 by drummer Janne Haavisto, bass player Mikko Mäkelä, singer/songwriter Markus Nordenstreng and guitarist Miikka Paatelainen. Guitarist Jussi Jaakonaho replaced Miikka Paatelainen in 2004. Organ player Matti Pitsinki from Finnish instrumental rock group Laika & The Cosmonauts was added to the line-up in 2005.
Children of the Dark Waters is the sixth studio album by Finnish symphonic death metal band Eternal Tears of Sorrow. It was released in May 2009 through Suomen Musiikki for Finland, Massacre Records for the rest of Europe and Marquee/Avalon Records for Asia. It is the second album to feature Jarmo Kylmänen on clean vocals, but his first album as an official member.
Soulrelic were a Gothic melodic metal band from Finland who formed in 2003. The band decided to separate in 2007. They were signed to Spinefarm Records. They are also known as Kurakello, but the reason for this is unknown outside of the band. The group issued a statement on 24 March 2007 which stated that they saw no 'light at the end of the tunnel' for their project at that time after they had been dropped by their record label. However, the band stated it might be possible that they would write new material in the future.
Thomas Kirjonen, better known as Kasmir, is a Finnish singer, musician and record producer. Kasmir's debut single "Vadelmavene" was released in April 2014 and peaked at number one on the Finnish Singles Chart. His debut solo album AMK Dropout was produced by Hank Solo and Jonas W. Karlsson and was released 19 September 2014. The album was the first in Finland to certify gold based on downloads and streams.
Daniel Lioneye is a Finnish rock band formed by members of the band HIM. Originally consisting of guitarist and vocalist Mikko "Linde" Lindström, bassist Mikko "Mige" Paananen and drummer Ville Valo, the group released their debut album The King of Rock 'n Roll in 2001, the title track of which was later used as the theme to Bam Margera's Viva La Bam TV series.
