Comfort Allen "C.A." McMillen was born on January 12, 1818, in Washington County, Arkansas to Lewis McMillen and Charlotte Joy. McMillen married Lydia Maxwell. McMillen and Lydia started their journey to Texas in 1845 and arrived on January 1, 1846, on the banks of a creek (now called Maxwell Creek). The McMillen family were able to get land at the cost of 25 cents an acre. The families near the creek built a robust farming community called Old Decator (present day Murphy, Texas).
Large amounts of his land were given to the city of Murphy for industrial usage. Some of his land was given to the Corinth Presbyterian Church (one of the oldest church congregations of Collin County) in Parker, Texas, where he was a founding member known for his pious nature and devotion to the Bible. His wife, Lydia, died in 1907. McMillen died in 1914.
McMillen High School, founded in 2011, in Plano, Texas is named in honor of the farmer, businessman, and church founder.

The Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is a religious sect of the fundamentalist Mormon denominations whose members practice polygamy. The fundamentalist Mormon movement emerged in the early 20th century, when its founding members were excommunicated from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, largely because of their refusal to abandon the practice of plural marriage after it was renounced in the "Second Manifesto" (1904). The FLDS Church as a distinct group traces its origins to the 1950s in the Short Creek community, where the group is still based.

McMillen High School, commonly known as McMillen High School, McMillen, or MHS, is a secondary school serving grades nine and ten, located in the East Cluster of the Plano Independent School District. Murphy Middle School and Armstrong Middle School feed into McMillen. Students graduating from McMillen will attend Plano East Senior High School for the eleventh and twelfth grades. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.
Leesville is an unincorporated city of 384 residents distributed over 51 square miles in the Gonzales—Guadalupe County area in Texas, United States, electorally known as local Precinct 13; defined by the south of its Capote Hills at the "Leesville Quad" intersection and the north of Sandies Creek, twelve miles southeast of Seguin. Beginning in the 19th-century, the municipal identity of Leesville was founded upon being one of the first Justice of the Peace Precincts of its original county-area, as prescribed in the Texas Constitution; as well as once generally serving as the primary seat of a former Texas House District 90, once rated at more than 1,000 constituents. Straddling and nearing the southeastern border of Guadalupe County, the real estate origins of Leesville go back to the 1800s survey-plots of Texas Revolution figures Ezekiel Wimberly Cullen and Count Joseph de la Baume of France ; the latter retaining Texas's founding father Stephen F. Austin as an attorney, to reacquire the early-1800s Spanish land-tract, after Mexico's Independence from Spain in 1825. Divided by Farm to Market Road 1682 joining with Gonzales—Guadalupe County Road 121 West, Leesville's northern territory is closest to the Austin Metropolitan Areas through Texas State Highway 80 / U.S. Route 183 in Texas, while the southern territory is closest to the San Antonio Metropolitan Areas through Texas State Highway 97 / U.S. Route 87 in Texas.
Rockne is an unincorporated community in Bastrop County, Texas, United States. According to the Handbook of Texas, the community had a population of 400 in 2000. It is located within the Greater Austin metropolitan area.
Thomas Gillespie was a large plantation owner in mid-to-late 18th-century North Carolina and served as commissary of the Rowan County Regiment in the North Carolina militia during the American Revolution. He spent his early life in Augusta County, Virginia before migrating to Anson County, North Carolina in about 1750, where he lived most of his life on Sills Creek in the area that became Rowan County, North Carolina in 1753. He and his wife and son were the first white settlers west of the Yadkin River. He owned a plantation of over 1,000 acres on Sills Creek in Rowan County, as well as 6,000 acres in the area of western North Carolina that became part of the state of Tennessee in 1796. He was an early elder in the Thyatira Presbyterian Church in Rowan County, which was formed in 1753. Thomas was the great-grandfather of U.S. President James K. Polk through the lineage of his daughter Lydia, who married Captain James Knox and gave birth to Jane Gracey Knox, mother of the President.
