Conaree Sports Club is a cricket ground located in Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis. [1] The ground is being used for hosting local and domestic cricket competitions of the West Indies since 2007. [2]

History

The first List A match was played at the ground on 10 November 2019, between Leeward Islands and Jamaica in the 2019–20 Regional Super50. [3] The venue hosted matches of the 2022 Under-19 Men's Cricket World Cup. [4]

The first women's List A match was held at the ground on 8 May 2023, between Guyana and Windward Islands in the 2023 Women's Super50 Cup. [5] It hosted a first-class match for the first time on 7 February 2024, between Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago in the 2023–24 West Indies Championship. [6]

Sunil Philip Narine is a Trinidadian cricket player who played internationally for the West Indies. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut in December 2011 and Test match debut in June 2012. Regarded as one of the greatest limited overs bowlers, Narine was a part of the West Indies team that won the 2012 T20 World Cup, where he took the winning wicket of Lasith Malinga in the final. In November 2023, he announced his retirement from international cricket. Nicholas Pooran is a Trinidadian cricketer who currently plays for the West Indies cricket team in limited overs cricket, and he is an occasional captain of the limited overs formats. He also plays for Trinidad and Tobago in West Indian domestic matches and for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL. He made his international debut for the West Indies in September 2016. In May 2022, Pooran was named as the captain of the West Indies team for limited overs cricket. In November 2022, he stepped down as the limited overs captain of the West Indies team. Gudakesh Motie is a Guyanese cricketer who plays for Guyana in West Indian domestic cricket. He is a left-arm orthodox bowler. He made his international debut for the West Indies cricket team in December 2021.

Nino Henry is an Antiguan cricketer who has played for the Combined Campuses and Colleges in West Indian domestic cricket. A right-arm pace bowler, he made his List A debut for the team in January 2016, against the Windward Islands in the 2015–16 Regional Super50. He neither batted nor bowled on debut, as the match was interrupted by rain, but did both in the following fixture against Guyana, scoring 12 not out and taking 0/18 from three overs.

Romario Shepherd is a Guyanese cricketer who plays for Guyana in domestic cricket and for West Indies in international cricket. He made his international debut for West Indies in November 2019.

Rovman Powell is a Jamaican cricketer who plays for the West Indies cricket team and current captain in T20I format. In December 2018, he captained the West Indies for the first time in a One Day International (ODI) match against Bangladesh. Domestically, he has played for Jamaica, the Combined Campuses and Colleges, and the Jamaica Tallawahs.

Akshaya Persaud is a Guyanese cricketer. He made his first-class debut for Guyana in the 2017–18 Regional Four Day Competition on 4 January 2018. In October 2019, he was named in the Combined Campuses and Colleges squad for the 2019–20 Regional Super50 tournament and made his List A debut on 6 November 2019.

The 2019–20 Regional Super50 was the 46th edition of the Regional Super50, the domestic limited-overs cricket competition for the countries of the Cricket West Indies (CWI). The tournament started on 6 November 2019, with the final taking place on 1 December 2019. The tournament featured the six regular teams of West Indian domestic cricket, the Combined Campuses and Colleges team and the West Indies Emerging Team. The national teams of the United States and Canada also took part. Combined Campuses and Colleges were the defending champions.

The West Indies Academy, formerly known as West Indies Emerging Team is a cricket team, that plays first-class and List A cricket in the West Indian domestic circuit. The team has no geographical base, rather is made up of the emerging players and top youth performers in the Caribbean. They are currently captained by Nyeem Young, and coached by Andre Coley.
