The Concord International Indoor was a men's ILTF affiliated indoor tennis tournament founded in 1967. [1] [2] Also known as the Concord Indoor Invitational, it was played at the Concord Resort Hotel, [3] Kiamesha Lake, New York, United States until 1968 when it was discontinued.

The facilities at this venue included four indoor tennis courts, [4] and upto six in total.

Dorothy Edith Round, was a British tennis player who was active from the late 1920s until 1950. She achieved her major successes in the 1930s. She won the singles title at Wimbledon in 1934 and 1937, and the singles at the Australian Championships in 1935. She also had success as a mixed doubles player at Wimbledon, winning a total of three titles. After her wedding in 1937, she played under her married name, Mrs D.L. Little. During the Second World War, she played in North America and became a professional coach in Canada and the United States. Post-war, she played in British regional tournaments, coached, and wrote on tennis for newspapers.

World Championship Tennis (WCT) was one the principal organizing bodies of men's professional tennis headquartered at the WCT Lakeway World of Tennis facility, Austin, Texas, United States from 1968 to 1989. It administered the WCT Circuit a world wide tour of associated tennis tournaments that was a rival tour to the ITF Grand Prix Circuit both of which were replaced by the Association of Tennis Professionals ATP Tour in 1990.

The Australian Indoor Tennis Championship, also known as the Australian Indoor Championship, the Australian Indoor Open and the Sydney Indoor for short, was a professional men's tennis tournament was played in Sydney, Australia. The tournament was an initiative from John Newcombe and was part of an expanding Asian-Australian fall Grand Prix circuit. The event was played under various names as part of the Grand Prix tennis circuit from 1973 through 1989 and as part of the ATP Tour from 1990 through 1994. It was played on indoor hard courts at the Hordern Pavilion on the Sydney Showground through 1982 and at the Sydney Entertainment Centre beginning in 1983. The tournament was cancelled in June 1994 on financial grounds with tournament director and co-founder Graham Lovett citing insufficient television coverage and the difficulty of signing top players as the main reasons.

The 1978 Colgate-Palmolive Grand Prix was a professional tennis circuit held that year. It consisted of four Grand Slam tournaments, the Grand Prix tournaments and the Nations Cup, a team event. In addition eight World Championship Tennis (WCT) tournaments, a separate professional tennis circuit held from 1971 through 1977, were incorporated into the Grand Prix circuit. The 28 tournaments with prize money of $175,000 or more formed the Super Series category. Jimmy Connors won 10 of the 84 tournaments which secured him the first place in the Grand Prix points ranking. However he did not play enough tournaments (13) to qualify for largest share ($300,000) of the bonus pool, which instead went to third–ranked Eddie Dibbs.

The 1967 Men's World Tennis Circuit was an annual series of 217 tournaments composed of two subsidiary circuits the 41st Pro Tennis Tour (professional) and the 54th ILTF World Circuit (amateur). The season began in February in Sydney, Australia, and ended in December in Melbourne, Australia.

In 1930, British cue sports company Burroughes and Watts organised the first edition of what would become the Women's Professional Billiards Championship. At the time, many billiard halls in the UK did not admit women. Later that year, the firm announced a Women's Amateur Billiards Championship. The first rounds would be played at regional venues, with the regional winners qualifying for the semi-finals and final at Burroughes Hall in London. Ruth Harrison was the champion from 23 participants, and the highest break made was 28.

Marilyn Jane Aschner is an American former professional tennis player. She was an Orange Bowl doubles champion in 1966, and she won a gold medal at the 1969 Maccabiah Games in Israel in doubles with partner Julie Heldman. She made the third round in women's doubles of the 1966 U.S. National Championships and 1968 Wimbledon Championships.
