Concordia University was a private Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod (LCMS) university in Portland, Oregon, that closed in spring 2020. One remaining program, the accelerated bachelor's degree in nursing, continues to operate under another Concordia University System school.
The Cascade Collegiate Conference is a college athletic conference affiliated with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Member schools are located in the Northwestern United States and in British Columbia. The conference's members compete in 15 sports. The current commissioner of the conference is Robert Cashell.
Daniel Birkey is a retired American soccer player and coach who has worked in the game at the club, collegiate and professional levels. He was the head men's soccer coach at Concordia University in Portland, Oregon, from 1988 to 2020. Upon Concordia's shift to NCAA Division II in 2015, Birkey was the 10th all-time winningest men's soccer coach in NAIA history.

Their mascot is LU the Bison.
