The Congo women's national handball team is the national team of Republic of the Congo (from 1970 to 1991 the People's Republic of the Congo). It takes part in international handball competitions.
The team participated at the 1980 Summer Olympics, where they placed sixth. [1]
They participated at the World Women's Handball Championship in 1982, 1999, 2001, 2007 and 2009.

Korea grabbed the gold medal in 1988 and 1992, won the silver medal in 1984, 1996, 2004 and took bronze medal in 2008. They have earned two World Championship medals so far: In 1995, they also won the World Championship title in Austria/Hungary 1995 World Women's Handball Championship, they came off third to secure the bronze medal at the Croatia in 2003 World Women's Handball Championship. It is a twelve time Asian Champion, the tournament has been won by any other nation only twice.
