Conjunto Atardecer is a regional Mexican band that specializes in the duranguense genre.
Conjunto Atardecer formed in Santa Maria del Oro, Durango, in September 2000. The idea of forming the group stemmed from the concerns of three young students who were beginning to switch on some of the school festivals, which were much in demand, as well as private events.
Seeing that many people liked the band, they were asked increasingly to perform at private events. They then decided to invite two more members, thus reinforcing musically. They began to rehearse, but not yet by the name that would identify them in their presentations. It was then that they had the idea of calling themselves "Conjunto Atardecer"; honoring that afternoon when the five came together for the first time.
From its inception, the group began to grow in popularity, which led them to record their first album entitled "Con Todo el Corazón" ("From the Heart"). It held in Durango, and with very good public acceptance and placing radio hits, they became a favorite of the region.
Some time later, the group launched what was their second production, "Atardecer Canta Corridos" ("Atardecer Sing Corridos"). With that they soon gained popularity in places like Chihuahua, San Luis Potosí and Zacatecas, as well as several cities in Texas, allowing them to make their first appearances on American soil.
The overall success came immediately to Conjunto Atardecer, managing to get the attention of promoters and record companies; eventually getting signed to Universal. They then launched the following material entitled "Mi Eterno Amor Secreto"("My Secret Eternal Love"). That album came to change the direction of the group, as they were now shaping up to be one of the most influential groups from Durango.
Their presence in radio was not limited. Tracks like "Debajo de los Laureles", “Yo Te Enseñé” and “Quiero Pensar en Ti" ("Under the Laurels", "I Taught You" and "I Think of You") were big radio hits on the regional Mexican stations, allowing the band to tour throughout the United States.
From that moment, Conjunto Atardecer began harvesting a number of successes in 2008. By that year, they had recorded 10 albums, in addition to countless nominations and awards that covered Lo Nuestro Awards, a Grammy, Furia Musical, and others.
In mid-2008, the group released their 11th album entitled "Se Va Muriendo Mi Alma"("My Soul is Dying").
In 2012, Conjunto Atardecer released their album "De Mil Maneras...Sin Limites" (A Thousand Ways...No Limits) and their single "Te Veré Como Me Ves" ("I'll See You as How You See Me"). [1]
In January 2017, Conjunto Atardecer's lead vocalist, Heraclio Cepeda announced on the group's Facebook page vía live video that the group was breaking up at the end of February of that year. He was to start a Norteño-Sax band called “H Norteña” and said that Conjunto Atardecer was splitting on good terms.
In January 2020, Conjunto Atardecer reunited and are recording and touring once again.
Norteño or Norteña, also música norteña, is a subgenre of regional Mexican music. The music is most often based on duple and triple metre and its lyrics often deal with socially relevant topics, although there are also many norteño love songs. The accordion and the bajo sexto are traditional norteño's most characteristic instruments. Norteña music developed in the late 19th century, as a mixture between local Mexican music and Austrian-Czech-origin folk music.
Los Rieleros del Norte are a Mexican three-time Grammy-nominated regional Mexican band from Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico. They are based in El Paso, Texas. They specialize in the norteño-sax genre.
Regional styles of Mexican music vary greatly from state to state. Norteño, banda, duranguense, Son mexicano and other Mexican country music genres are often known as regional Mexican music because each state produces different musical sounds and lyrics.
The 6th Annual Latin Grammy Awards were held in Los Angeles at the Shrine Auditorium on Thursday, November 3, 2005. It was the first ceremony to be broadcast by Univision in the United States. Ivan Lins was the big winner, winning two awards, including Album of the Year. He is the first and only Brazilian and Portuguese-language artist to win Album of the Year to date. Duranguense is a subgenre of regional Mexican music. It is a hybrid of Technobanda and Tamborazo. Its popularity peaked in the mid to late 2000s among the Mexican and Mexican American community in the United States, as well as in many parts of Mexico. The instruments held over from tamborazo are the saxophone, trombone, and tambora, while the instruments held over from technobanda are the electronic keyboard, drum set, and vocals. The electronic keyboard is emphasized in Duranguense, giving the genre its own signature riff. The genre popularized the dance style, Pasito Duranguense.

Grupo Montez de Durango or Montez de Durango is a regional Mexican band that specializes in the duranguense genre. They are based in Aurora, Illinois, and are well known in the United States, Mexico and Central America.
Patrulla 81 is a regional Mexican band originally from the state of Durango. Group member José Ángel Medina formed the group in 1981. In 2004, the group released Cómo Pude Enamorarme de Ti, a hit in both the United States and Mexico. In December 2007, the band released a new album, A Mi Ley, featuring the single "Te Quiero Mucho." Patrulla 81's Quiéreme Más reached No. 1 on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart in March 2009. In late 2009, the band released Sin Ti No Vive, which debuted on Billboard's Regional Mexican chart at No. 1.
The 3rd Annual Latin Grammy Awards were held in Los Angeles at the Kodak Theatre on Wednesday, September 18, 2002. Alejandro Sanz was the night's big winner, winning a total of three awards including Album of the Year. The ceremony returned in style after the 2001 ceremony was cancelled because of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks across America, and all presenters apologized to viewers during the broadcast for such.

Los Huracanes del Norte are a regional Mexican band. Throughout their history, they have played different styles of norteño music, such as traditional norteño from northeastern Mexico, rough Norteño from Mexico's pacific northwest, and saxophone norteño popular in Mexico's landlocked states. They are originally from Yahualica de González Gallo, Jalisco, and were raised in Tangancícuaro, Michoacán. They are currently based out of Portales, New Mexico, United States. They are one of regional Mexican music's most famous acts.

Los Tucanes De Tijuana are a Mexican norteño band led by Mario Quintero Lara. The band was founded in Tijuana, Baja California in 1987. They, along with Los Tigres del Norte, were pioneers in playing their music in a rougher manner as opposed to the traditional norteño music of northeastern Mexico, subsequently influencing many other norteño artists from Mexico’s pacific states and giving that region of the country its signature norteño sound. During their career, Los Tucanes de Tijuana have garnered several awards and recognitions, including a Latin Grammy in 2012 for the album 365 días, five Grammy Award nominations, nine Lo Nuestro Awards nominations and multiple BMI Awards for Quintero as a composer. They are the first norteño music band to obtain an international film award by winning the Un Certain Regard Angel Film award at the Monaco International Film Festival for their participation in the documentary Los ilegales. In 2008, the group received a star on the Las Vegas Walk of Fame.
