Connie Gardner (born 1963) is an American ultramarathoner and member of the USATF. [1] She has competed in ultramarathons all over the world, and has won 11 USATF national championships. Her ultramarathon victories include the Burning River 100 Mile Trail Race (2008, 2009, 2011, 2012), the Mohican 100 Mile Trail Race (2001, 2007, 2008, 2012, 2016), the NorthCoast 24-Hour Endurance Run (2010, 2011), the Tussey Mountainback 50 Miler (2011), and the JFK 50 Miler (2002, 2004, 2008). In September 2012, Gardner set an American record by running 149.368 miles at the IAU 24 Hour World Championship in Katowice, Poland, earning herself the silver medal and leading the women's team to gold. [3]
She was the 2003 USA Track and Field Ultrarunner of the Year and later the 2011 USA Track and Field Masters Ultrarunner of the Year. She won three national titles in three consecutive months in 2011 (100 mile trail championship in August, 24 hour road championship completing 144 miles in September, 50 mile road championship in October). Born Constance Margaret John on November 6, 1963 to Dr. James EA John and Constance Maxwell John, Gardner began running in elementary school in the DC area. She attended Olentangy High School in Columbus, Ohio, where she competed for the school's first girls cross country team. She also ran on their track and field's 4x800 relay team, who finished runners up at the Class AA State of Ohio finals in 1980 and 1981. She then attended the University of Massachusetts and majored in Sports Management, where she was a member of the university's rowing team. [4] While at the University of Massachusetts, Gardner ran her first marathon at the age of 17, finishing in 4:11. [4] Gardner is currently a sales associate at Second Sole Akron, where she has been employed since 2007 and continues to cater to the needs of Northeast Ohio's devoted runners. [5] She coached at Archbishop Hoban High School from 2015-2020, [6] and now coaches at Bryant and Stratton College. [7] Gardner is a lover of animals and frequently homes rescue dogs, housing up to 5 at a time. She currently resides in Akron, Ohio with 1 of her 2 daughters.

An ultramarathon, also called ultra distance or ultra running, is any footrace longer than the traditional marathon length of 42.195 kilometres. Various distances are raced competitively, from the shortest common ultramarathon of 50 kilometres (31 mi) to over 200 miles (320 km). 50k and 100k are both World Athletics record distances, but some 100 miles (160 km) races are among the oldest and most prestigious events, especially in North America.

Scott Gordon Jurek is an American ultramarathoner, author, and public speaker. Throughout his running career, Jurek was one of the most dominant ultramarathon runners in the world, winning the Hardrock Hundred (2007), the Badwater Ultramarathon, the Spartathlon, and the Western States 100 Mile Endurance Run (1999–2005). In 2010, at the 24-Hour World Championships in Brive-la-Gaillarde, France, Jurek won a silver medal behind Shingo Inoue and set a new US record for distance run in 24 hours with 165.7 miles. Jurek has followed a vegetarian diet since 1997, and a vegan diet since 1999.
Nikki Kimball is an American distance runner specializing in the Ultramarathon. She ran her first 100-mile race at the Western States 100 Mile Endurance Run in 2004, and was the female winner. She was the winning female at Western States again in 2006 and 2007, becoming only the third woman to win Western States three times. In 2014, she won the Marathon Des Sables multi-stage endurance race on her first attempt. Prior to running, her main sport was cross-country skiing. She was crewed at the 2007 Western States by U.S. Senator Max Baucus of Montana, where Kimball lives. She lives in Bozeman, Montana.
Magdalena Lewy-Boulet, commonly known as either Magdalena or Magda Boulet, is an American runner from Oakland, California. Born in Jastrzębie-Zdrój, Poland, Lewy-Boulet became a U.S. citizen on September 11, 2001.
Michael Wardian is an American marathoner and ultra-marathoner. He won the 2008, 2009 and 2010 US 50 km championships and the 2011 US 50 mile championship. In 2008, he won the U.S. National 100 km championship. Wardian also is the 2007 JFK 50 Mile winner, and won the National Marathon in Washington D.C. three consecutive years (2006–2008), and in 2010, 2011 and 2012. He ran in Maldives Addu marathon on 29 June 2018 and got first place and MVR12000. In 2020, Wardian won the Quarantine Backyard Ultra, running nearly 263 miles over the course of 63 hours without sleeping in a repetitive neighborhood loop in Arlington, VA to follow social distancing guidelines during the coronavirus pandemic.
Molly Huddle is an American long-distance runner who competes in track and cross country running events. She held the American record in the 5000 meters set in 2014 in Monaco (14:42.64), which has since been lowered by Shannon Rowbury and Shelby Houlihan. Huddle held also the American record in the 10,000 meters set at the 2016 Rio Olympics with a time of 30:13.17, which has since been lowered by Alicia Monson.
Karl Meltzer is an ultrarunner and ultrarunning coach based in Sandy, Utah. Meltzer has won more 100-mile ultramarathons than any other ultramarathoner, and has held speed records at major U.S. trails, including the Appalachian Trail and the Pony Express Trail. Meltzer's trail runs have been featured in news outlets from Ultrarunning.com to NBC Sports. Meltzer has been a professional ultramarathoner since 1999, and a coach since 2007.
Desiree "Des" Nicole Linden is an American long-distance runner. She represented the United States in the 2012 London Olympics and the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics women's marathon. In 2018, she won the Boston Marathon, becoming the first American in 33 years to win the woman's category in the event. She holds the women's 50K world record of 2:59:54.

Mackey has set course records at many significant national ultra-distance trail running races, and spent several years adventure racing nationally and internationally.
The Ottawa Self-Transcendence 24 Hour Race was part of a triple Ultramarathon race in the National Capital Region Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Organized by the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team the run took place in July. For many years, this race was held on an outdoor track at the Terry Fox Athletic Facility, and then indoors at the Louis Riel dome, on a 400-meter track. Since 2017, the race was held outdoors at the Asticou Training Centrein Gatineau, Quebec. Runners from Canada and all over the world participated. It was the longest-running 24 hour race and oldest timed ultrarace worldwide. Runners from Canada and all over the world participate.
