Conrad Bali is a five-star beachfront resort located in Tanjung Benoa, near Nusa Dua, on the southern coast of Bali, Indonesia. It is part of the Conrad Hotels & Resorts brand, under the management of Hilton Worldwide. The resort opened on 8 March 2004 and has since operated as a destination for leisure, business, and event tourism in the region. [1]
Conrad Bali opened during a period of recovery for Bali’s tourism industry in 2004. The property was developed with the aim of blending modern luxury with traditional Balinese architecture. It was designed by Wimberly, Allison, Tong & Goo (Hawaii), with interiors by Lim-Teo + Wilkes Design Works (Singapore), and landscaping by Belt Collins International. Lighting design was handled by Project Lighting Design. [2]
In 2019, the resort underwent a major renovation that refreshed 313 rooms, Conrad Suites, Conrad Pool Villas, public areas, and dining venues. The redesign, led by WOW Architects and PT Oriental Indah Bali, introduced a modern aesthetic with Balinese elements, using earth tones and natural textures to reflect the island’s environment. [3]
In 2024, the hotel celebrated its 20th anniversary with a series of guest experiences and events focused on Balinese culture, sustainability, and community involvement. [4]
The resort occupies a 7-hectare beachfront site in Tanjung Benoa, approximately 12 kilometers from Ngurah Rai International Airport. [5]
Conrad Bali consists of four low-rise wings housing 368 rooms, suites, and villas. The design combines traditional Balinese elements—such as open-air spaces, water features, and locally sourced materials—with contemporary luxury. Interiors feature color palettes and textures inspired by the ocean and surrounding landscape. [6]
The resort is operated by Hilton Worldwide. As of 2024, the General Manager is Kevin Girard, who has been associated with the hotel since 2011 and returned to lead the property during the COVID-19 pandemic. [8] The hotel is recognized for maintaining long-term staff, with many team members serving since its opening.
Conrad Bali has received multiple awards for service, design, and sustainability, including:
