Constantin Popescu (born 15 December 1973) is a Romanian film director and screenwriter. He is sometimes credited as Constantin Popescu Jr. and Constantin C. Popescu. [1]
Constantin Popescu was one of the directors of the omnibus film Tales from the Golden Age (2009). [2] His first feature film as solo director was Portrait of the Fighter as a Young Man (2010), a historical drama about Romanian anti-communist partisans fighting after World War II. [3] [4] It was followed by the family drama Principles of Life (2010). [3] [5] Popescu's third feature film was Pororoca (2017), a psychological thriller [3] [6] for which he received the Gopo Award for Best Director. [7]

4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days is a 2007 Romanian art film written and directed by Cristian Mungiu and starring Anamaria Marinca, Laura Vasiliu, and Vlad Ivanov. The film is set in Communist Romania in the final years of the Nicolae Ceaușescu era. It tells the story of two students, roommates in a university dormitory, who try to procure an illegal abortion. Inspired by an anecdote from the period and the general social historic context, it depicts the loyalty of the two friends and the struggles they face.

If I Were Harap Alb is a 1965 Romanian fantasy film directed by Ion Popescu-Gopo. It was entered into the 4th Moscow International Film Festival where Popescu-Gopo won the award for Best Director. The film is based on the fairy tale The Story of Harap Alb by Romanian writer Ion Creangă.

Pororoca is a 2017 Romanian psychological thriller film directed by Constantin Popescu and starring Bogdan Dumitrache and Iulia Lumânare. It is about a family and its struggles when its 5-year-old daughter disappears. The film premiered at the 2017 San Sebastián International Film Festival and was released in Romania on 19 January 2018.
