Consumer Watchdog is a division of Business & Enterprise Solutions Botswana (Pty) Ltd, [1] a privately owned company registered in Botswana and based in Gaborone.

With a weekly newspaper column in the country's best-selling newspaper The Voice , as well as a blog, [2] and a Facebook groupof over 200,000 members Consumer Watchdog has a wide reach regarding consumer issues in Botswana.

Originally set up in 2004, Consumer Watchdog has the following stated aims:

Services delivered by BES, the parent company of Consumer Watchdog, include customer service training, organisational review and mystery shopping.

On 31 May 2007, Consumer Watchdog celebrated its second birthday party, with the President of Botswana Festus Mogae as guest of honour. 180 customer service champions were celebrated in front of the president, the press and the people. [5]

Consumer Watchdog representatives have worked widely with companies in Botswana and southern Africa, including major banks in Botswana. They also work with the government, insurance companies, retail outlets [6] and restaurants.

Nirvanix is an American-based provider of business phone systems, VoIP services, hosted PBX, SIP Trunks, and cloud storage services headquartered in San Diego, California, United States. The company offers a variety of business phone solutions for small, medium as well as enterprise businesses. It also has a strong presence in public, hybrid and private cloud storage services with usage-based pricing. Based on previous service companies founded in 1998, Nirvanix shut down in October 2013. In July 2021 Nirvanix re-entered the business with $12 million funding.

The Patriot on Sunday is a newspaper published in Botswana on Sundays. The newspaper was founded in 2012 and is partly owned by parliamentarian Mpho Balopi. The newspaper is indexed in AllAfrica.com. The newspaper was involved in a Freedom of the Press dispute with the Printing & Publishing Company Botswana because of a negative perspective on the ruling party.
