Conwy is the name of one of the electoral wards in the town and community of Conwy, Conwy County Borough, Wales. The ward covers the community to the west of the River Conwy and is one of four county wards included within the boundaries of the community. The wards of Deganwy, Marl and Pensarn lie east of the river. [1]
According to the 2011 UK Census the population of the ward was 4,065. [2]
The ward elects two county councillors to Conwy County Borough Council and, at the May 2017 election, both seats were won by Independent candidates. [3] Cllr Joan Vaughan has represented the ward since 2004, while the other seat has previously been won by the Labour Party and Plaid Cymru. [4]

For the purposes of elections to Conwy Town Council, Conwy ward is further divided into two community wards - Aberconwy and Castle - which elect a total of five town councillors. [7]
Llanrwst is a small market town and community on the A470 road and the River Conwy, in Conwy County Borough, Wales and in the historic county of Denbighshire. Llanrwst developed around the wool trade and became known also for the making of harps and clocks. Today, less than a mile from the edge of Snowdonia, its main industry is tourism. Notable buildings include almshouses, two 17th-century chapels, and the Parish Church of St Grwst, which holds a stone coffin of Llywelyn the Great. Mochdre[ˈmoːχdrɛ](listen) is a village and an electoral ward to the west of Colwyn Bay in Conwy County Borough, Wales. Originally part of the municipal borough of Colwyn Bay prior to local government reorganisation in April 1974, it is now a separate community whose population at the 2001 census was 1,862 increasing to 1,923 at the 2011 census. The village can be seen in its entirety from Bryn Euryn.
Deganwy is a small town in Conwy County Borough in Wales with a population of 3,936 (2011). It lies in the Creuddyn Peninsula alongside Llandudno and Rhos-on-Sea. Historically part of Caernarfonshire, the peninsula is in a region of north Wales where as many as 1 in 3 of residents are able to speak Welsh, and is home to some of the most expensive streets in Wales. The name Deganwy has been interpreted in modern times as Din-Gonwy, which would mean "Fort on the River Conwy", but the historical spellings make it impossible for this to be the actual origin of the name although mentioned in Domesday Book is "the territory of the Decanae tribe". The original wooden castle was rebuilt in stone after 1210. Deganwy is in the ecclesiastical parish of Llanrhos, and has a Victorian era Gothic parish church dedicated to All Saints.
