The Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design (CIID) is a postgraduate school and consultancy based in Copenhagen, Denmark and San Jose, Costa Rica, which focuses on the domain of interaction design.
The Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design was launched in 2007 [1] and in 2008, completed its Pilot Year programme in an attempt to establish a full-time Masters course in the field. [2] The Pilot Year was awarded financial funding by The Enterprise and Construction Authority (EBST), the Danish Ministry of Culture, Novo Nordisk and the JL Foundation. [3]
The Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design is based in the center of Copenhagen. The school and its postgraduate Interaction Design Programme are in collaboration with Design School Kolding. The course is headed by Simona Maschi, and its board and faculty include people such as Gillian Crampton Smith and Bill Verplank.
The business side of CIID undertakes consultancy and research in the fields of education, interaction design, product design and service design for global clients.
Today, CIID offers both summer school courses and its yearlong graduate programme from a location in San Jose, Costa Rica. [4] [5]

The Royal School of Library and Information Science is a school under the University of Copenhagen that provides higher education in the field of library and information science. It has now merged with another department to Department of Communication. It is based in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is a member of iSchools, a consortium directed to understanding the role of information in nature and human culture. There has also been a location in Aalborg, however this campus was shut down in the summer of 2017.
Tourism in Costa Rica has been one of the fastest growing economic sectors of the country and by 1995 became the largest foreign exchange earner. Since 1999, tourism has earned more foreign exchange than bananas, pineapples and coffee exports combined. The tourism boom began in 1987, with the number of visitors up from 329,000 in 1988, through 1.03 million in 1999, over 2 million in 2008, to a historical record of 2.66 million foreign visitors in 2015. In 2012, tourism contributed with 12.5% of the country's GDP and it was responsible for 11.7% of direct and indirect employment. In 2009, tourism attracted 17% of foreign direct investment inflows, and 13% in average between 2000 and 2009. In 2010, the tourism industry was responsible for 21.2% of foreign exchange generated by all exports. According to a 2007 report by ECLAC, tourism contributed to a reduction in poverty of 3% in the country.

Danmarks Designskole is an institution under the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Higher Education.
Karen Christiana Figueres Olsen is a Costa Rican diplomat who has led national, international and multilateral policy negotiations. She was appointed Executive Secretary of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in July 2010, six months after the failed COP15 in Copenhagen. During the next six years she worked to rebuild the global climate change negotiating process, leading to the 2015 Paris Agreement, widely recognized as a historic achievement.
