Corinne De Vailly

Corinne De Vailly (born September 10, 1959) is a French-born Canadian writer living in Quebec.

She was born in Saint-Quentin, Aisne and came to Quebec with her family in 1973. She studied literature at the Cégep de Saint-Laurent and worked as a freelance journalist for various literary publications of Quebecor and Québec-Mag. In 1986, she became bureau chief and reporter for the program Le Petit Journal, an information show for young people, at Télévision Quatre-Saisons. [1]

She wrote scripts for several television shows for young people, including Iris and Mais où se cache Carmen San Diego at Radio-Canada and La Bande magique at TVI. [1] During the 1980s, she wrote musical comedies for children Les Mics et les Micquettes and Les Schnouguis which were presented at La Ronde. [2]

De Vailly has written a number of novels for young people as well as informative books. [1] Her series Celtina et Emrys and Phoenix, détective du Temps were very popular. [2]

Le Livre noir du Canada Anglais is a series of three polemical books written by Quebec journalist Normand Lester. Les Intouchables published the first volume in 2001. The essays relate from the author's point of view, while including many historians' citations, the historical fabrications and injustices in Canada, notably those against French-speaking Quebecers, Jewish and aboriginal peoples. Its publication resulted in Société Radio-Canada suspending Lester.

She is currently a Coalition Avenir Québec Member of the National Assembly of Québec and is the current Minister Responsible for Seniors and Informal Caregivers and Member of the Comité ministériel des services aux citoyens since October 2018. She was a Liberal Member of the National Assembly of Quebec for the electoral division of Saint-Henri–Sainte-Anne in Montreal from 2007 to 2015, and served as the Minister responsible for Seniors, vice-chair of the Comité ministériel du développement social, éducatif et culturel and member of the Conseil du trésor.
