Corneliu Ciontu (born 15 November 1941) is a Romanian politician, and currently[ when? ] general secretary of the Great Romania Party. In November 2005, he founded the People's Party, which was blocked in justice court. In August 2006 Ciontu became the vice-president of the New Generation Party, but after one year he withdrew from the party.
Before November 2005, Ciontu was the vice-president and later President of the Greater Romania Party, where he was seen as more moderate than the party's leader, Corneliu Vadim Tudor.

Ion Iliescu is a Romanian politician and engineer who served as President of Romania from 1989 to 1996 and from 2000 until 2004. Between 1996 and 2000, also from 2004 until his retirement in 2008, Iliescu was a senator for the Social Democratic Party (PSD), of which he is the founder and honorary president.
Corneliu Vadim Tudor also known as "Tribunul", was the leader of the Greater Romania Party, poet, writer, journalist and a Member of the European Parliament. He was a Romanian Senator from 1992 to 2008. He was born and died in Bucharest.

Theodor Dumitru Stolojan is a Romanian politician who was Prime Minister of Romania from September, 1991 to November, 1992. An economist by training, he was also one of the presidents of the National Liberal Party (PNL) before being the founding leader of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLD) and then the Democratic Liberal Party (PDL). He was a Member of the European Parliament for Romania, representing the Democratic Liberal Party and then the National Liberal Party.
The Greater Romania Party is a Romanian nationalist political party. Founded in May 1991 by Eugen Barbu and Corneliu Vadim Tudor, it was led by the latter from that point until his death in September 2015. The party is sometimes referred to in English as the Great Romania Party.
General elections were held in Romania on 28 November 2004, with a second round of the presidential elections on 12 December between Prime Minister Adrian Năstase of the ruling Social Democratic Party of Romania (PSD) and Bucharest Mayor Traian Băsescu of the opposition Justice and Truth Alliance. Călin Constantin Anton Popescu-Tăriceanu is a Romanian politician who was Prime Minister of Romania from 29 December, 2004 to 22 December, 2008. He was also president of the National Liberal Party (PNL) and the vice-president of the European Liberal Democrat and Reform Party (ELDR), two positions he assumed in 2004. He was the President of the Senate, second position in the Romanian state, from 10 March 2014 until he resigned on 2 September 2019, having previously resigned from the PNL party, becoming an independent senator. In July 2014, he established the Liberal Reformist Party.
Corneliu Mănescu was a Romanian diplomat born in Ploiești. He served as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania from 1961 to 1972 and as President of the United Nations General Assembly from 19 September 1967 to 23 September 1968.
The People's Party was a centre-right Christian-Democratic party in Romania, formed in November 2005 by Corneliu Ciontu, previously the president and vice-president of the Greater Romania Party.

The Democratic Liberal Party was a liberal-conservative political party in Romania. The party was formed on 15 December 2007, when the Democratic Party (PD) merged with the Liberal Democratic Party (PLD). On 17 November 2014 the PDL officially merged into the National Liberal Party (PNL), ceasing to exist. The PDL was associated with Traian Băsescu, who was previously leader of the PD and President of Romania from 2004 to 2014.
Mihai Ghimpu is a Moldovan politician who served as Speaker of Parliament and Acting President of Moldova from 2009 to 2010. He was member of Parliament of Moldova from 1990 to 1998 and from 2009 to 2019. Ghimpu held the position of leader of Liberal Party from 1998 to 2018.
Cristian Silviu Bușoi is a Romanian physician and politician. A member of the National Liberal Party (PNL), he was a member of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies for Timiș County from 2004 to 2007, and was a Member of the European Parliament from 2007 to 2013, a position he regained in 2014.
The National Union for the Progress of Romania is a political party in Romania. The party was formed in March 2010 by independents who had broken away from the Social Democratic Party (PSD) and National Liberal Party (PNL) to support President Traian Băsescu. Tension began soon after the party's formation between former PSD and PNL members over the distribution of leadership positions and the political direction of the new party, with former PSD members dominating. The first party congress to elect its leaders was on 1 May 2010.
Valeriu Tabără is a Romanian agronomist and politician. A member of the Romanian National Unity Party (PUNR) and later the Democratic Liberal Party (PD-L), he was a member of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies for Timiș County from 1992 to 2000, representing the same county from 2004 to 2012. In the Nicolae Văcăroiu cabinet, he was Minister of Agriculture from 1994 to 1996, and he held the same position in the Emil Boc cabinet from 2010 to 2012.
Ramona Nicole Mănescu is a Romanian politician and lawyer. From 24 July 2019 to 4 November 2019, she served as minister of Foreign Affairs in the Romanian Government. She was a Member of the European Parliament serving 2007 to 2013 and 2014 to 2019 from the National Liberal Party, active within the European People's Party. As part of this group she is a member of the European Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs, vice-chair in the Delegation for relations with the Mashreq countries and a substitute member in the Committee on transport and tourism and in Delegation for relations with the Arab Peninsula.
