Makario Stadium, is an all-seater multi-purpose stadium in Nicosia, Cyprus. It was the largest and main sports venue of the capital up to the construction of the GSP stadium in 1999. At present it is mostly used for football matches and is the home ground of Olympiakos Nicosia,Digenis Morphou, and Ethnikos Assia. The stadium holds 15,590 seated spectators. The playing field is surrounded by a running track and can be adapted to hold most track and field events. Apart from corporate boxes and the press centre, there are no coverings for spectators.

Erna was an 865 GRT coaster that was built in 1922 by Howaldtswerke, Kiel, Germany for German owners. In 1952, she was sold to Costa Rica and renamed Burica, then another sale in 1953 saw her renamed Dmitris. In 1955, she was sold to Panama and renamed Cedar. The Shacolas Tower or Ledras Tower is a highrise building in Nicosia, Cyprus. It was completed in 1959. It was built by Costas Manglis and was formerly known as the Manglis Tower, which housed the offices of the General Engineering and Hellenic Mining Company. It is located in the old town of Nicosia and it was the tallest building in Cyprus until 1978. The first 5 floors are H&M department stores and the 6th floor used to be a cafeteria offering a panoramic view of the old city. The 11th floor is an observatory and museum overlooking the whole capital. There are telescopes, binoculars and a recorded feature on the history of the capital.

Agioi Iliofotoi or Eliophotes was a village in the Nicosia District of Cyprus, east of Kato Moni. Agioi Iliofotoi was inhabited exclusively by Turkish Cypriots. It was abandoned in 1964 when they all sought refuge in Nicosia. Agioi Iliofotoi was subsequently demolished, either in the late 1970s or 1980s. In 1960, it had a population of 91.
