The Council on Foundations, founded in 1949, is a nonprofit leadership association of grant-making foundations and corporations. The council's mission is to provide the opportunities, leadership, and tools for philanthropic organizations to expand, enhance, and sustain their ability to advance the common good. [1] Its vision is to be a strategic leader that raises issues of shared interest, expands thinking in the field, builds collaborative efforts, and removes barriers to effective and dynamic philanthropy. The council is led by Kathleen P. Enright, who serves as its president and CEO, and Jay Williams, who is the chairman of the board of directors. [2] [3]
