Coventry Phoenix are Coventry's female ice hockey team. The team was established in 2003, and currently competes in Division One (South) of the British Women's Leagues. [1] They play out of the SkyDome Arena, in city centre Coventry, the same venue as the Coventry Blaze men's professional ice hockey teams.
The Phoenix had their best season ever in 2013/14 finishing runners up to Whitley Bay. They made their first appearance at the women's playoffs in Sheffield losing 1-0 to the eventual winner, Swindon Top Cats, in the Semi Final. They then beat Cardiff to finish on 3rd place overall.
The Club ran a series of free "Learn to Play" sessions, providing loanable kits, in the summer of 2014.
Manchester Phoenix was a semi professional ice hockey team from Greater Manchester, England. The club was formed in 2003 as a result of the efforts of supporters group Friends of Manchester Ice Hockey to bring top-level ice hockey back to Manchester after Manchester Storm folded in 2002.

The 2008–09 EIHL season was the sixth season of the Elite Ice Hockey League. It began in September 2008, and ran through to April 2009. The ten clubs in the League competed for 4 different competitions: the Elite League, the Play-Offs, the Challenge Cup, and the Knockout Cup. The winners of the regular season will compete in the 2009–2010 Champions Hockey League. For this season, the Coventry Blaze represented Great Britain in the Continental Cup.
