Cranberry wild rice bread [1] also known as wild rice cranberry bread [2] is a loaf or roll with dried cranberries and wild rice mixed in. It also contains some sugar but is not a sweetbread. The origin of the dish is unknown but is was likely invented in Northern Minnesota or Madeline Island, Wisconsin. It can be found throughout Minnesota, as well as some parts of Wisconsin. While popular in both states it is not found elsewhere this is likely due to the large cranberry industry in Wisconsin and the wild rice industry in Minnesota [3] This is a popular method of consuming wild rice. [4]
Besides local bakeries, the bread can also be found in Kwik Trip. [5]
