Crazy as Pinoy is a Filipino hip hop group from Marikina, Philippines. Crazy as Pinoy was formed in the 1990s, and achieved mainstream success after the group became one of the finalists of Eat Bulaga! 's rap battle segment, Rappublic of the Philippines. [2] The lineup consisted of the members and their alter egos loosely based on José Rizal's novel, Noli Me Tángere . Crazy as Pinoy released their self-titled album in 2014, spawning songs such as "Tayo Pa Kaya" and their Awit Award-winning song, "Di Sinasadya". The group was also part of the two volumes of Rappublic of the Philippines with the songs "Crazy Dance", "Huwad" and "Panaginip". They have cited influences from the late Francis Magalona, with some of their work sounding slightly like Gloc-9, Chito Miranda of Parokya ni Edgar, Andrew E., Denmark, Mastaplann and numerous others.

Pinoy rock, or Filipino rock, is the brand of rock music produced in the Philippines or by Filipinos. It has become as diverse as the rock music genre itself, and bands adopting this style are now further classified under more specific genres or combinations of genres like alternative rock, post-grunge, ethnic, new wave, pop rock, punk rock, funk, reggae, heavy metal, ska, and recently, indie. Because these genres are generally considered to fall under the broad rock music category, Pinoy rock may be more specifically defined as rock music with Filipino cultural sensibilities.

Regarded as one of the best Filipino rappers of all-time, his fast-flowing vocal style has made him one of the best-selling and most successful hip-hop artists in the Philippines. He was described by fellow Filipino rapper Francis Magalona as "a blacksmith of words and letters, and a true Filipino poet."
