The Cup of Ukrainian PFL 2009 (summer) was the second season of the Professional Football League of Ukraine knockout competition, currently known as Cup of PFL or Kubok of PFL.

The Cup of Ukrainian PFL was a team football competition by the Olympic (knockout)-system of elimination. The first and second editions of the competition were introduced in 2009 and were in some ways similar in nature to the competition of the neighbor-country, the Russian Federation.

Professional Football League of Ukraine

Professional Football League of Ukraine is a sport organization and collective member of the Football Federation of Ukraine. Created in 1996 as a representative of professional clubs in Ukraine, since 2008 it only represents professional clubs of lower leagues.

The Cup began on June 19 with a semi-final round where teams, representing each division of the professional Ukrainian football league system participated. The winners of that round advanced to the finals and the losing teams to the match for the third place.

Yuvileiny Stadium

Stadion Yuvileiny is a football-only stadium located at 9 Gagarin street, Sumy, Ukraine 40030. The stadium was built in 1999–2001 in place of previously demolished Spartak Stadium in 1989.

Ukrainian First League association football league

The Persha Liha or Ukrainian First League is a football league in Ukraine and the second tier of national football competitions. Members of the league also participate in the Ukrainian Cup. Unlike the Ukrainian Premier League, Persha Liha does not conduct a parallel tournament for junior teams of its clubs.

Ukrainian Second League

The Ukrainian Second League is a professional football league in Ukraine which is part of the Professional Football League of Ukraine. Football Federation of Ukraine, however, has an exclusive right on general administration and control over the organizing and conducting competitions in the league. In 1992 the league was also known as the Transitional League.

Dynamo Kyiv were the defending champions, having won their 13th league title. A total of 16 teams participated in the league, 14 of which participated in the 2008–09 season, and two of which were promoted from the Ukrainian First League.

The 2009–10 Ukrainian First League was the nineteenth since its establishment. There were 18 teams competing. Two teams were relegated from the Ukrainian Premier League 2008-09. Due to the 2009 flu pandemic which affected Ukraine in late October the PFL decide to break for winter earlier than they originally scheduled. The second half of the season began March 11, 2010.

2009–10 Ukrainian League Cup

The 2009–10 Ukrainian League Cup was the only season of Ukraine's football knockout competition designated for the members of the Ukrainian Second League and amateur clubs. The main purpose of this tournament was to supplement the 2009–2010 playing calendar of the Second League clubs whose number had declined remarkably triggering some talks of reforming the Ukrainian Second League. Currently amateur clubs are invited at the discretion of their respective regional football associations.

The 2010–11 Ukrainian First League was the 20th since its establishment. Eighteen teams competed in the competition. Two teams were promoted from the 2009–10 Ukrainian Second League and a third team replaced a team that withdrew from the competition.

The 2016–17 Ukrainian Second League is the 26th season of 3rd level professional football in Ukraine. The competition commenced on 23 July 2016 with one match from Round 1. The spring session started on 18 March 2017 with the competition ending on 2 June 2017. The fixtures were announced on 16 July 2016.

The 2018–19 Ukrainian First League is the 28th since its establishment. The competition began on 21 July 2018 with the match between Prykarpattia Ivano-Frankivsk and Balkany Zorya. The competition was in recess for a winter break which started after the completion of Round 18 on 18 November 2018. The competition resumed on 24 March 2019 and expected to end 25 May 2019.
