Curriculum Online

Curriculum Online was part of the United Kingdom government's drive to get more ICT and multimedia resources in classrooms across the country. This was done primarily through the eLearning Credits (ELCs) scheme, which was operated by Curriculum Online. [1]

The project was closed down in the autumn of 2008, when the ELC scheme ended.

eLearning Credits was a government initiative in the UK which put money aside for schools for multimedia resources. All government-funded schools from nursery to secondary are eligible for eLearning Credits. The 2007–08 allocation was £1,000 for each maintained school and academy that directly provides nursery, primary or secondary education up to Key Stage 4 plus £3.42 for each pupil aged between 3 and 15. This was the final allocation of eLCs – ring-fenced funding via eLCs ceased at the end of August 2008.

ExPRESS Logistics Carrier Module on the International Space Station

An EXpedite the PRocessing of Experiments to Space Station (ExPRESS) Logistics Carrier (ELC) is an unpressurized attached payload platform for the International Space Station (ISS) that provides mechanical mounting surfaces, electrical power, and command and data handling services for Orbital Replacement Units (ORUs) as well as science experiments on the ISS. The ELCs were developed primarily at the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, with support from JSC, KSC, and MSFC. ELC was formerly called "Express Pallet" and is the unpressurized counterpart to the pressurized ExPRESS Rack. An ELC provides scientists with a platform and infrastructure to deploy experiments in the vacuum of space without requiring a separate dedicated Earth-orbiting satellite.
