The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2015 took place between 18 February and 1 March 2015 in Falun, Sweden. This was the fourth time the event is held there, having previously been held there in 1954, 1974 and 1993. The World Cup was organised by the FIS who also run world cups and championships in ski jumping, snowboarding and alpine skiing amongst others. A new website was created by the FIS for Cross-country skiing fan that was released the week of 16 November 2009.

Tarjei Bø is a Norwegian professional biathlete. Awarded Olympic gold medals, World Championship gold medals and World Cup victories from 2010 to 2022. Bø debuted in the Biathlon World Cup on 26 March 2009 in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia. In the 2010 Winter Olympics, he earned his first gold medal in the 4 × 7.5 km biathlon relay. On 10 December 2010 he won the World Cup sprint race in Hochfilzen, his first world cup victory. He also won the following pursuit race and anchored the winning relay team. Bø is the older brother of biathlete Johannes Thingnes Bø.

The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 was the 40th World Championships in nordic skiing and took place in Lahti, Finland from 22 February to 5 March 2017. This was the seventh time the event has been held there, having previously been held in 1926, 1938, 1958, 1978, 1989 and 2001.

2013–14 FIS Cross-Country World Cup was a multi-race tournament over the season for cross-country skiers. This was the 33rd official World Cup season in cross-country skiing for men and women. The season began on 29 November 2013 in Ruka, Finland, and ended on 16 March 2014 in Falun, Sweden.

The 42nd FIS Nordic World Ski Championships were held from 24 February to 7 March 2021 in Oberstdorf, Germany. It was the third time that the World Championships have been held in Oberstdorf, having previously hosted the event in 1987 and 2005.

The 2020 UEC European Track Championships were the 20th continental championships for European under-23 and junior track cyclists, and the 11th since the event was renamed following the reorganisation of European track cycling in 2010. The event took place at the Velodromo Attilio Pavesi in Fiorenzuola d'Arda, Italy from 8 to 13 October 2020.
