The University of the Philippines Los Baños, also referred to as UP Los Baños or colloquially as Elbi, is a public research university primarily located in the towns of Los Baños and Bay in the province of Laguna, some 65 kilometers southeast of Manila. It traces its roots to the UP College of Agriculture (UPCA), which was founded in 1909 by the American colonial government to promote agricultural education and research in the Philippines. American botanist Edwin Copeland served as its first dean. UPLB was formally established in 1972 following the union of UPCA with four other Los Baños and Diliman-based University of the Philippines (UP) units.

It has become as diverse as the rock music genre itself, and bands adopting this style are now further classified under more specific genres or combinations of genres like alternative rock, post-grunge, ethnic, new wave, pop rock, punk rock, funk, reggae, heavy metal, ska, and recently, indie. Because these genres are generally considered to fall under the broad rock music category, Pinoy rock may be more specifically defined as rock music with Filipino cultural sensibilities.

"Ang Huling El Bimbo" is a song composed by Ely Buendia of the Philippine pop/rock band Eraserheads, for their 1995 studio album Cutterpillow. It received extensive airplay after its release and ranked #2 on RX 93.1's "Top 20 OPM Requests of 1996". It is the only Tagalog song included in the band's international compilation album, Aloha Milkyway (1998). The song's music video catapulted the band's success outside the Philippines by bagging the 'International Viewer's Choice Awards for Asia' at the 1997 MTV Video Music Awards.

Therese "Gang" Badoy Capati, still often referred to by her maiden name, Gang Badoy, is a radio and television host, feature writer, businesswoman, and educator from the Philippines, best known for founding RockEd Philippines, an advocacy and alternative education group that continues to showcase social issues through music events featuring voluntary performing artists and rock bands, and its radio talk show, RockEd Radio on the now defunct NU 107. Rock Ed Radio returned to the airwaves since January 2012 over Jam 88.3.

Si Agimat, si Enteng Kabisote at si Ako is a 2012 Filipino fantasy, comedy and action film starring Vic Sotto, Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. and Judy Ann Santos. The film is a crossover of the Agimat and Enteng Kabisote film franchises. It is a joint production by OctoArts Films, M-Zet Productions, Imus Productions, APT Entertainment and GMA Films. It is one of the 8 official entries for the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival. It was shown on December 25, 2012.
Armi Olbes Millare is a Filipino singer best known as the lead vocalist/keyboardist of the award-winning Filipino alternative rock band Up Dharma Down. On December 26, 2021, Armi left the band to continue as a soloist.

He is also the host of The Telebabad Tapes, with his wife Cj de Silva.
