Czech Inn Hotels s.r.o. is a Czech company which operates a group of more than 20 hotels and 10 catering facilities. [1] It is one of the largest management companies in the Czech Republic focused on the hotel industry. [2] The company was founded in 2003 by Jaroslav Svoboda. [3] Most of these establishments are four-star hotels and are an integral part of the Czech Inn Holding group. Since its inception, the company has maintained cooperation with Mornington Capital, a British investment company based in London. [4]
The company is a co-founder of the Czech Hotel Association. [5] In 2018, the company entered into a partnership with the Football Association of the Czech Republic.
In 2020, the company opened its first hotel designed to accommodate people affected by the COVID-19 virus. [6] [7] Hotel visitors were served remotely, including check-in/check-out. [8]
In 2022, the company accommodated more than 1.2 million guests. [9] [10]
The company operates three to five star hotels and restaurants across Prague. Some of the hotels are also in Brno, the second largest city of the Czech Republic.

The season began on 19 July 2013 and ended on 31 May 2014. Sparta Prague won their 36th title on 4 May 2014, after defending champions Plzeň drew against Jablonec. They ended the season with a Czech league record of 79 points out of a possible 90, winning all of their home games, and losing only one away game and drawing a further four. Sigma Olomouc and Znojmo were relegated, the latter having played its top flight debut, and the former having played in every Czech first league season since its establishment in 1993.
The video game industry in the Czech Republic has produced numerous globally successful video games such as Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis and the subsequent ArmA series, the Mafia series, Truck Simulator series, the Kingdom Come: Deliverance series, the Samorost series and others. There were 300–400 video game developers and around 30 video game companies focusing on video game development in 2014. In 2017 it was 1,100 developers and 47 companies. Video games are also considered by some experts to be the country's biggest cultural export. The video game industry did not enjoy a good reputation and was unsupported by the state until 2013, when the Ministry of Industry and Trade started to seek ways to kickstart the economy. By 2014, programs were planned to support the video game industry. Another problem is a lack of video game development specialization at any university.

Parliamentary elections were held in the Czech Republic on 8 and 9 October 2021. All 200 members of the Chamber of Deputies were elected, with the leader of the resulting government to become the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic. Following the 2017 parliamentary elections, the country had been ruled by a minority government consisting of ANO 2011 (ANO), led by prime minister Andrej Babiš, and the Czech Social Democratic Party (ČSSD), led by interior minister Jan Hamáček, with confidence and supply support from the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia (KSČM) until April 2021. The largest opposition party was the Civic Democratic Party (ODS), followed by the Czech Pirate Party. Other parties in the Chamber of Deputies included SPD, TOP 09, STAN, and KDU-ČSL.

The COVID-19 pandemic in the Czech Republic was a part of the worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2. The first three confirmed cases in the Czech Republic were reported on 1 March 2020. On 12 March, the government declared a state of emergency, for the first time in the country's modern history for the area of the entire country. On 16 March, the country closed its borders, forbade the entry of foreigners without residence permits, and issued a nationwide curfew. While originally planned to be in effect until 24 March, the measures were later extended until 1 April and then again until the end of State of Emergency which was extended by the Chamber of Deputies until 30 April 2020 and then again until 17 May 2020.
The 2020–21 Czech First League, known as the Fortuna liga for sponsorship reasons, was the 28th season of the Czech Republic's top-tier football for professional clubs since its establishment in 1993. Slavia Prague have won their twenty-first league title which was their fourth in the last five years. The season was initially scheduled to start on 11 July but was delayed until 21 August as a consequence of the postponement of the previous season's conclusion due to the outbreak of COVID-19. The first half of the season only had 15 rounds and finished on 19 December, while the spring half commenced on 29 January 2021, the earliest such date in league history.
