The Czechoslovakia national handball team was the national handball team of Czechoslovakia.
The European Women's Handball Championship is the official competition for senior women's national handball teams of Europe, and takes place every two years. In addition to crowning the European champions, the tournament also serves as a qualifying tournament for the Olympic Games and World Championship. As of December 2022, the only teams that have ever won the championship are Norway, Denmark, Hungary, Montenegro and France.

The national team currently are in division two after being relegated from division one in 2013 with the team being currently ranked 35th in the IIHF World Rankings.
The Norway men's national ice hockey team is the national ice hockey team from Norway that participates at the IIHF World Championships. The team is governed by the Norwegian Ice Hockey Association and is coached by Petter Thoresen.
The Egyptian national handball team is the national handball team of Egypt, which represents Egypt in international matches. It is supervised by the Egyptian Handball Federation. Egypt was the first non-European team to reach the semifinals of the World Championships, and the first African team to reach the semifinals in the Olympic tournament.

The North Korea national ice hockey team is the national men's ice hockey team of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and represent the country in IIHF competition. They withdrew from the 2007 World Championships, and therefore were automatically relegated to Division III in the 2008 edition, where they finished first. They then played in Division II during the 2009 edition, and finished last bringing them back down to Division III for 2010. They are currently ranked 56th in the IIHF World Rankings.

The Russia men's national beach handball team is the national team of Russia. It is governed by the Handball Union of Russia and took part in international beach handball competitions.
The men's eight event was a rowing event conducted as part of the 1964 Summer Olympics programme. It was held from 12 to 15 October at the Toda Rowing Course. There were 14 boats from 14 nations, with each nation limited to a single boat in the event. The event was won by the United States, returning the top of the podium after losing their eight-Games winning streak with a fifth-place finish in 1960; it was the nation's 11th overall victory in the men's eight. The defending champions, the United Team of Germany, took silver; the Germans defeated the United States in the opening round but lost the rematch in the final after the Americans advanced through the repechage. Czechoslovakia repeated as bronze medalists.
The Japanese national ice hockey team is the national men's ice hockey of Japan. They are controlled by the Japan Ice Hockey Federation and a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). Japan is currently ranked 23rd in the rankings and currently compete in the IIHF World Championship Division I. They have competed in eight Olympic Games competitions.

Since 1984 the Korean team has not only participated constantly in Olympic Games but also ranked among the top four nations every time until 2012. Korea grabbed the gold medal in 1988 and 1992, won the silver medal in 1984, 1996, 2004 and took bronze medal in 2008. They have earned two World Championship medals so far: In 1995, they also won the World Championship title in Austria/Hungary 1995 World Women's Handball Championship, they came off third to secure the bronze medal at the Croatia in 2003 World Women's Handball Championship. It is a twelve time Asian Champion, the tournament has been won by any other nation only twice.
The Hungary men's national volleyball team is the national team of Hungary. It is governed by the Magyar Röplabda Szövetség and takes part in international volleyball competitions. Hungary won two medals in Euro Championship.
The Canada men's national handball team is controlled by the Canadian Team Handball Federation. The Canadian Men's Team has historically consisted mainly of players from Alberta and Quebec, but has featured players from Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Ontario.
The Czechoslovakia women's national handball team was the national handball team of former Czechoslovakia. The team won the World Women's Handball Championship in 1957.

The East Germany men's national handball team represented the former country of East Germany in international team handball competitions. They had eight appearances at the World Men's Handball Championships, where they won silver medals in 1970 and 1974, and bronze medals in 1978 and 1986. East Germany won Olympic gold in 1980 after a thrilling final against the USSR. The 1958 World Men's Handball Championship was the third team handball World Championship. It was held in the German Democratic Republic between 27 February and 8 March 1958.The 1974 World Men's Handball Championship was the eighth team handball World Championship. It was held in East Germany between 26 February-10 March 1974. On 30 July 1980, the team won the olympic tournament by defeating the Soviet Union, 23–22, in the final game in Moscow.
The IHF Men's Handball World Championship has been organized indoor by the International Handball Federation since 1938.
The IHF Women's Handball World Championship has been organized by the International Handball Federation since 1957. European teams have won every time except 1995 where South Korea won as the first team outside Europe and 2013 where Brazil won as the first American team. The biggest winners are Russia and Norway with four titles each.
