The Dallas Express was an American soccer club based in Dallas, Texas that was a member of the Lone Star Soccer Alliance. [1]

The team began its existence as the Dallas Mean Green, a local, unaffiliated team which competed at the amateur level. In 1984, it won the National Amateur Cup. In 1987, The Mean Green entered the Lone Star Soccer Alliance under the name Dallas Express. [2] They resumed their original name the next season, but in 1989, became known as F.C. Dallas. In their final season, the team was known as Dallas Inter.

The United Soccer League was a professional soccer league in the United States in the mid-1980s.

Western Soccer Alliance was a professional soccer league featuring teams from the West Coast of the United States and Western Canada. Houston Dynamos was a U.S. soccer team that existed in various forms from 1983 to 1991. In 1991, the team’s owners changed the name to Houston International, but the team lasted only through the 1992 season before folding. The Dynamos were founded by Pete Kane and John M Gaughan. The Dynamos were founded with the intention of a continued building of the sport of soccer in Houston Texas. The Dynamos were the first team to give contracts to its players based on an entire year not on a season. The Houston Dynamos players year round went to parks, schools and events promoting the sport of soccer. In 1985 the Dynamos brought Pele to Houston creating great interest in the sport and spreading goodwill.

The Houston Alianza, also known as Allianza Internacional, was an American soccer club based in Houston, Texas that was a member of the Lone Star Soccer Alliance from 1988 to 1991.

San Antonio International was an American soccer club based in San Antonio, Texas that was a member of the Lone Star Soccer Alliance.

Portland Timbers, previously known as F.C. Portland, came into existence in 1985 as an independent U.S. soccer team based in Portland, Oregon. In 1989, the team adopted the name Portland Timbers. Portland was composed of both professional and amateur players. The amateur players largely came from local Portland amateur leagues. It played its games in Portland's Civic Stadium.

Fort Worth Vaqueros FC Football club

Fort Worth Vaqueros FC is an American amateur soccer club based in Fort Worth, Texas, which began play in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) in May 2014. The Vaqueros play in the Lone Star Conference of the South Region. The club is based at Farrington Field, a facility owned by the Fort Worth Independent School District. The team's name was announced at the Fort Worth Livestock Exchange Building on February 13, 2014, after a name the team contest. The team's official logo was selected by the fans then revealed by the team on March 20, 2014. The team played its inaugural 2014 season at historic LaGrave Field but had to relocate in 2015 after the Fort Worth Cats, from whom the Vaqueros had been subletting the field, lost their lease.
