Daniel Francis Ahern (February 15, 1898 - August 31, 1963) was an American football offensive tackle who played one season in the American Professional Football Association (APFA) for the Washington Senators. [1] [2] [3] He played 3 games and started 2.

George Daniel Lanphear was an American football player. He was born in Madison, Wisconsin, and played college football for the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He was a member of the 1959 Wisconsin Badgers football team that lost to the Washington Huskies in the 1960 Rose Bowl. He later played in the American Football League (AFL) for the Houston Oilers in 1960 and 1962 as a defensive end. Lanphear was also drafted in the eighth round of the 1960 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played 14 games for the Oilers in 1960, winning an AFL title with the team. He played two games in the 1962 season. Lanphear died in 2018 at the age of 80.

Paul Ahern is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Greater Western Sydney Giants and the North Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was originally drafted by the Greater Western Sydney Giants with their third selection and seventh overall in the 2014 national draft. After failing to play a senior match in his two seasons with the Giants due to a number of injuries including two knee reconstructions, he was traded to North Melbourne during the 2016 trade period. He made his debut in the fifty-four point win against Brisbane in round eleven of the 2018 season, one year after being traded to North Melbourne. Ahern was delisted by North Melbourne at the end of the 2020 AFL season after a mass delisting by North Melbourne which saw 11 players cut from the team's list.

Donal Ahern (Dan) is an Irish retired Gaelic football coach and player. He enjoyed a brief league and championship career with the Cork senior team from 1971 until 1973. Born in Glanworth, County Cork, Ahern first played competitive Gaelic football at underage levels with Glanworth. He won back-to-back county minor championship medals in 1966 and 1967, before claiming a county junior championship medal in 1971. Ahern also won a county intermediate championship medal in 1976.

The 1960 Syracuse Orangemen football team represented Syracuse University in the 1960 NCAA University Division football season. The Orangemen were led by 12th-year head coach Ben Schwartzwalder and played their home games at Archbold Stadium in Syracuse, New York. Syracuse finished the regular season with a record of 7–2 and ranked 19th in the AP Poll. The university administration ruled against accepting a bowl invite saying that the "season was long enough". They were not invited to a bowl game.
