Sebadoh is an American indie rock band formed in 1986 in Northampton, Massachusetts, United States, by Eric Gaffney and Dinosaur Jr. bass player Lou Barlow, with multi-instrumentalist Jason Loewenstein completing the line-up in 1989. Along with such bands as Pavement, Beat Happening and Guided by Voices, Sebadoh helped pioneer lo-fi music, a style of indie rock characterized by low-fidelity recording techniques, often on four-track machines. The band's early output, such as The Freed Man and Weed Forestin', as well as Sebadoh III (1991), was typical of this style. Following the release of Bubble & Scrape in 1993, Gaffney left the band. His replacement and erstwhile stand-in, Bob Fay, appeared on Bakesale (1994) and Harmacy (1996), but was fired before the sessions for the band's major label release The Sebadoh (1999), featuring drummer Russ Pollard.
The Folk Implosion was an American band founded in the early 1990s by Lou Barlow and John Davis. It was initially a side-project started by Barlow to explore different territory than that being canvassed with his primary band at the time, Sebadoh. The name is a play on the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. The band has not been active since 2004.

He married Diana Viar who joined The Undead in November 2014. They are both in the band RIP that started in 2013.

Apocalypse Hoboken was an American punk rock band hailing from Chicago,, Illinois, United States, which toured the US and Europe and released seven albums on various labels, including Rocco Records and Dyslexic Records. The band initially formed in 1987 as Positive Outlook with Ted Locascio (vocals), Scott Hoffman (guitar), Rich Cassady (bass), and Tony Esposito (drums) but split that year and reunited in 1989 as Apocalypse Hoboken with the new drummer Andy Peterson. The bulk of their activity took place in the 1990s. The original line-up consisted of Ted Locascio (vocals), Scott Hoffman (guitar), Rich Cassady (bass), and Andy Peterson (drums). After various line-up changes, the line up of Hoffman, Peterson, vocalist Todd Pot, bassist Kurdt Dinse, and guitarist Billy Thompson came together in 1992 and would begin the band's most productive run. Thompson left the band in 1996 and was replaced by Sean Seeling.

The Band of Holy Joy are an English band formed in New Cross, London, and initially active between 1984 and 1993, releasing several albums. In 1992, they abbreviated their name to Holy Joy. They reformed in 2002, under their original name, releasing a new album called Love Never Fails. They concentrated on other musical projects during 2003 to 2006. The band began performing live again in 2007 and have since released a number of albums, including Funambulist We Love You in October 2017 and their latest Neon Primitives in June 2019.
