Dan Wilde (born 24 December 1984) is an English singer-songwriter and musician from Blackpool, now living in Cambridge. He has released three solo albums so far, including With Fire in Mind [1] and Rhythm on the City Wall, which was released in April 2016. [2]

Career

While growing up, Wilde played in a number of bands. After taking a course in contemporary music in London, he took a degree in Jazz at the Leeds College of Music. After graduating, he wrote songs for his first solo album, where he worked with Ian Bailey and producer Gary Hall. For his second album, Wilde worked with Karl Odlum and Dave Gerard (from Gerard and the Watchmen). His third album, "Rhythm on the City Wall", is released on 1 April 2016.

Wilde has supported Karine Polwart, Cara Dillon, Martin Taylor, Mark Geary, Karima Francis and Ezio and has played at Cambridge Folk Festival, [3] Beverley Folk Festival [4] and Moonbeams Festival. [5] Wilde performed at the Moonbeams Festival in 2011. [6] [7] In 2011, he spent a month on tour in the east coast of the US, playing gigs from Maine to Nashville. In June and July 2013, he was on tour in Germany and toured again in Germany and Switzerland in 2014 and in Germany in January 2016.

Dan Wilde cites Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Tom Waits and Paul Simon among those who have influenced his music. [8] [9] [10]

Arrogance Ignorance and Greed is the fourteenth studio album by English folk duo Show of Hands. Released in 2009 on the band's label Hands on Music, the album was produced by Stu Hanna of the English folk duo Megson, with additional production by Mark Tucker. The album followed an emotionally painful period for Steve Knightley where members of his family battled serious illnesses. This led to the album becoming particularly personal and darker than previous Show of Hands albums, aided by Hanna's direct and sharp production. The album also discusses several social and political concerns, and contains several collaborations with other musicians and vocalists.

Blackhouse is the seventh studio album by Scottish celtic fusion band Peatbog Faeries, released in May 2015 by the band's label Peatbog Records. After recording their acclaimed album Dust (2011), the band played live for the following few years, during which time fiddler Peter Tickell left the band, to be replaced by Ross Touper. As the band had not recorded an album for some years, they returned to record Blackhouse mainly in a cottage in Kilchoan, Ardnamurchan during 2014, although recording continued into 2015. Their first album with Touper, and their first without a brass section since Welcome to Dun Vegas (2003), Blackhouse was produced by Calum MacLean and displays a very eclectic array of genres, fusing the band's Scottish celtic roots with genres such as jazz, funk, reggae, dance and house.

Jamie Freeman is an English singer, songwriter, musician and record producer, who previously fronted The Jamie Freeman Agreement. He is the brother of the actor Martin Freeman and the musician Tim Freeman. He and his wife Stevie co-founded Union Music Store in Lewes, East Sussex. He is a member of the Americana Music Association (Nashville) and Americana Music Association UK.
