Daniel A. DiBiasio is an American academic administrator serving as the 11th president of Ohio Northern University. DiBiasio assumed office in August 2011 after previously serving as the 17th president of Wilmington College in Wilmington,Ohio.
DiBasio was born and raised in Ohio. [1] He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Ohio Wesleyan University,followed by a Master of Arts and PhD from Ohio State University. [2]
DiBiasio began his career as admissions counselor and dean of students at Rocky Mountain College in Billings,Montana. He later worked as assistant dean of the Ohio State University Graduate School and as executive assistant to the president and interim vice president of student affairs at the University of New Hampshire. From 1995 to 2011,DiBiasio served as the president of Wilmington College. [3] [4]
He was selected to serve as the 11th president of Ohio Northern University in 2011,and assumed office in August of that year. [5] In 2017,DiBiasio managed a university capital campaign,raising $13 million in donations after setting a $15 million goal. [6] During DiBiasio's tenure,Ohio Northern has faced budgetary issues. In 2019,16 staff members were laid off and programs were eliminated,including German,French,and the Master of Laws degree. [7] [8] In 2018,it was announced that the university would increase tuition by 3.9%,the largest increase since DiBiasio took office in 2011.[ citation needed ]
Wilmington College is a private college in Wilmington,Ohio. It was established by the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) in 1870 and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The college is still Quaker-affiliated and has seven core Quaker values. In fall 2018,the college set an enrollment record,bringing in 450 new students for the academic year,totaling 1,103 students on Wilmington's main campus,and 139 students at Wilmington's two Cincinnati branches at Blue Ash and Cincinnati State.
John Joseph DeGioia is an American academic administrator and philosopher who has been the president of Georgetown University since 2001. He is the first lay president of the school and is currently its longest-serving president. Upon his appointment,he also became the first lay president of any Jesuit university in the United States. Chester Joseph Roberts was an American college football and college basketball coach in the early 1900s. He was a 1912 graduate of Lawrence College in Appleton,Wisconsin where he played football. During this time Roberts served as head football coach at Bethany College in Bethany,West Virginia in 1914,Miami University in Oxford,Ohio in 1915,and Platteville Normal College—now the University of Wisconsin–Platteville—in 1917,compiling a career college football head coaching record of 11–10. He was also the head basketball coach at Bethany (1914–1915) and Miami (1915–1916),tallying a career college basketball mark of 9–18.
