Daniel Falzon (born 16 March 1994) is a professional motorcycle racer from Adelaide, Australia. He competes in the Australian Superbike Championship, aboard a Yamaha YZF-R1. He is the 2013 and 2014 Australian Supersport Champion [1] and also the 2012 Australian Superstock 600 Champion. [2]

In 2012 Daniel won the ASBK Superstock championship by 72.5 points and secured the lap record at 3 of the 4 tracks visited. The same year, he was also a contestant on the One HD TV program, The Ultimate Rider. [3] In 2013 he moved up to the highly contested Supersport category with hopes of finishing in the top 5. As the rookie in the class, he surprised everyone by leading every round and eventually winning the Supersport Championship. One of the youngest riders to have ever done so.

In 2014 Daniel competed in the Australian Superbike Championship in the Supersport class which he won to become the first person to win the Australian Supersport Championship back to back. In addition, he competed in the high exposure Phillip Island Championship which is run in conjunction with the Australian rounds of the World Superbike (WSBK) and MotoGP Championships. At the Australian round of the MotoGP Championship, Daniel won all 3 races to secure his 5th National Title in 6 years.

TV Appearance

In October 2012, Daniel was selected as one of seven contestants to take part in the first season of a new reality TV series called, The Ultimate Rider. [21] The show is based around several challenges which each rider completes and scores points for in the hope to win the prize of A$20,000 and a contract with Honda Factory Racing. The program was broadcast on Channel One HD in October 2012 and repeated in March 2013.

Moto2 Replacement Ride

In October 2013, the Jon Daniels Racing Team were contacted by the Technomag-CarXpert Moto2 Team to have Daniel replace injured rider, Randy Krummenacher in the Australian round of the 2013 MotoGP Championship. [22] Although the offer was accepted, the opportunity was lost when the Moto2 bike was damaged beyond repair in a large accident during the Malaysian MotoGP race just one week prior to the Australian round. [23]

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Supersport World Championship</span> Motorcycle racing competition

The Supersport World Championship, abbreviated to WorldSSP, is a motorcycle racing competition on hard-surfaced circuits, based on mid-sized sports motorcycles. Competition machines were originally based on production-based motorcycles with 600 cc to 750 cc engines, depending on the number of cylinders. After trials in UK national series British Supersport, from 2022 the regulations have changed to allow eligibility of larger-displacement engines, to reflect the engine sizes being produced and encourage different manufacturers.

The 2008 British Superbike Championship season was scheduled to begin on 6 April 2008; however, snow at Brands Hatch forced the abandonment of the day's races, which were later rescheduled. The series was rescheduled to start on 20 April and end on 12 October 2008.

Billy McConnell is an Australian motorcycle racer. He is signed for the OMG Racing team to ride their BMW S1000RR in the British National Superstock 1000 Championship, completing the team with Superbike riders Luke Mossey and Héctor Barberá. McConnell missed races at the start of the 2019 season due to illness.

The European Superstock 1000 Championship, formerly FIM Superstock 1000 Cup or Superstock 1000 FIM Cup, was a supporting class to the Superbike World Championship.

The British Supersport Championship, National Superstock 1000 & 600 and the British Motostar Championship are the four main championship series that are run as support races alongside the British Superbike Championship. In 2012 the Motostar category replaced the defunct 125cc category that had been running since the start of the British Superbike Championship in 1988, Motostar was open to both 125 and 250 machines similar to Moto 3 machines. The Supersport racing started in 1989 and is a class comprising 600cc Motorcycles that are allowed racing modifications and custom tuning. It wasn't until 2000 that the Superstock 1000 category replaced the defunct 250cc category, with the Superstock 600 championship being the newest addition on the support series in 2008. In 2010 the Superstock 1000 and Superstock 600 categories also supported the British rounds of the Superbike World Championship and the Moto GP both at Silverstone.

The 2020 MotoAmerica Superbike Championship season was the 44th season of the premier class of circuit-based motorcycle racing in the United States and the 6th since its renaming to MotoAmerica. Cameron Beaubier entered the season as the defending champion, after taking his fourth title in 2019.
