Daniel V. Kashikola (born 25 July 1957) is a Namibian politician. He was the deputy minister of Home Affairs,Immigration,Safety and Security from 2020 until 2023. He also served as a member of 5th and 6th Parliament of Namibia.
Kashikola was born on 25 July 1957 in Okawe in Ovamboland,South West Africa (today the Ohangwena Region of Namibia). He obtained several qualifications from different universities and colleges:a Diploma in Development Studies and Management at the United Nations Institute for Namibia (UNIN),Lusaka (1986). In 1992,Kahikola obtained a Diploma in Management from the College of Professional Management,United Kingdom. He also holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) which he obtained at Maastricht School of Management,Netherland (2006). Additionally,Kashikola obtained a PhD BA from the Atlantic International University (2021). [1]
During the fight for Namibian liberation,from 1978 to 1982,Kashikola served as a political commissar of the People's Liberation Army of Namibia (PLAN). Kashikola was also a member of editorial board of The Combatant –a monthly publication of the (PLAN) political commissariat from 1986 to 1990. He was then the director of the SWAPO Election Subcenter in Okongo from 1989 to 1990. [1]
After independence,Kashikola served as a control officer from 1993 to 1994 before appointed as the acting regional officer for Kavango Regional Council from 1995 to 1996. Kashikola also served as the director of planning for Ohangwena Regional Council from 2004 to 2007 and the chief regional officer for Ohangwena Regional Council from 2007 to 2014.
Kashikola was elected and served as the member of Parliament of Namibia in 2015–2020, [1] and was appointed to Cabinet as the deputy minister of Home Affairs,Immigration,Safety and Security in March 2020. [2] He served until September 2023,when president Hage Geingob relieve him of his duties. [3] Kashikola remains a member of the National Assembly. [4]
In December 2019,Kashikola was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and reckless driving. [5] [4] Kashikola denied all wrongdoings. [6]
Kashikola areas of interest lies in Land reform,Town and Regional Planning as well as Defence and security. [7]
Politics of Namibia takes place in a framework of a semi-presidential representative democratic republic,whereby the President of Namibia is both head of state and head of government,and of a pluriform multi-party system. Executive power is exercised by both the president and the government. Legislative power is vested in the two chambers of Parliament. The judiciary is independent of the executive and the legislature.
Theo-Ben Gurirab was a Namibian politician who served in various senior government positions. He served as the second Prime Minister of Namibia from 28 August 2002 to 20 March 2005,following the demotion and subsequent resignation of Hage Geingob. Previously he was the country's first Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1990 to 2002 and was President of the United Nations General Assembly from 1999 to 2000. He was Speaker of the National Assembly of Namibia from 2005 to 2015,when he was replaced by Peter Katjavivi. Gurirab ultimately resigned from politics in 2015.
Jerry Lukiiko Ekandjo is a Namibian politician,former anti-apartheid activist and political prisoner. He is one of the founding members of the SWAPO Youth League and has been one of the most active internal leading members of the South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO) during the liberation struggle. He spent eight years in prison on Robben Island after being charged for inciting violence in 1973.
Pendukeni "Penny" Iivula-Ithana is a Namibian politician who served as the secretary general of SWAPO,Namibia's ruling party,from 2007 to 2012. She was a member of the Constituent Assembly of Namibia in 1989 and has been a member of Parliament and member of cabinet since independence in 1990.

Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah is a Namibian politician who is Namibia's third and current vice president since February 2024. She previously served as the deputy prime minister of Namibia from 2015 to 2024. Currently the SWAPO vice president,and has retained her position and is set to become the party's first female presidential candidate in November 2024. She has also served as Namibia's Minister of International Relations and Cooperation since December 2012. From March 2010 to December 2012,she was Minister of Environment and Tourism. Nandi-Ndaitwah is a member of SWAPO,Namibia's ruling party,and a long-time member of the National Assembly. In 2017,Nandi-Ndaitwah was elected vice-president of the Swapo Party at the party's 6th Congress. She is the first woman to serve in that position.
Elia George Kaiyamo is a Namibian politician. A member of SWAPO,Kaiyamo was an internal organizer and teacher for SWAPO prior to independence. He served in the Cabinet of Namibia as Deputy Minister of Home Affairs and Immigration from 2010 to 2015. On 2 September 2016,President Hage Geingob appointed Kaiyamo as Ambassador-designate to the People's Republic of China.

A member of SWAPO,Witbooi was elected to the Namibia's National Assembly in the 2009 general election. Prior to entering the National Assembly,Witbooi was a teacher in Gibeon,Hardap Region. She studied at Suiderlig High School in Keetmanshoop and worked in the administration of the Namaland bantustan.

Peter Hafeni Vilho is a Namibian politician and retired rear admiral who is a member of the Parliament of Namibia,a former Minister of Defence,and a former commander of the Namibian Navy. He was appointed the commander of the maritime wing of the Namibian Defence Force in 2002. In September 2017 he was appointed as executive director of the Ministry of Defence. In March 2020,Namibian president Hage Geingob appointed Vilho as the Minister of Defense and Veteran Affairs. Vilho served until his resignation in April 2021 after allegations of holding an undeclared bank account.

Natalia ǀGoagoses is a Namibian politician who has been a member of the National Assembly for SWAPO since 2020. Since 2023,she has served as Deputy Minister of Higher Education,Training and Innovation. She was also the deputy minister in the Ministry of Urban and Rural Development from April 2021 to September 2023.
