Daniel Sousa is a Portuguese short film director. Sousa and fellow producer Dan Golden were nominated for a 2014 Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film for the film Feral . [1]
Sousa is an alumnus of the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), where he teaches animation. [2]
Mister Smile is a 1999 American animated short film directed by Fran Krause while he was attending Rhode Island School of Design. It won several awards in independent film festivals. The story follows a variety of characters who are all invited to a party at the home of Mister Smile.

Ishu Patel is an Indian-Canadian animation film director/producer and educator. During his twenty-five years at the National Film Board of Canada he developed animation techniques and styles to support his themes and vision. Mike Johnson is an American stop motion animator who has worked on films such as James and the Giant Peach and The Nightmare Before Christmas, short films such as an animation of "The Devil Went Down to Georgia", and TV programmes such as The PJs. He is best known for directing Corpse Bride with Tim Burton; they were jointly nominated for the 2005 Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. He directed Ping Pong Rabbit, from a script by Peter Barsocchini. The film was released by Mili Pictures Worldwide in 2017 in Turkey and 2019 in the United States. Johnson was also attached to direct Oz Wars, a CGI/Stop-motion hybrid film.
Roger Allers is an American film director, screenwriter, animator, storyboard artist, and playwright. He is best known for co-directing Disney's The Lion King (1994), the highest-grossing traditionally animated film of all time, and for writing the Broadway adaptation of the same name. He also directed Sony Pictures Animation's first feature-length animated film, Open Season (2006) and the animated adaptation of The Prophet.
Gary David Leib was an American underground cartoonist, animator, and musician. Best known for the comic book Idiotland, Leib's work also appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times, Musician Magazine, The New York Observer, RAW, BLAB! and as weekly features in New York Press for many years. His animation work was featured in films like American Ultra, American Splendor, and Happiness. Leib was a founding member of the Grammy Award-nominated band Rubber Rodeo, which recorded two albums for Mercury Records. He created original music for independent and feature films, including the critically acclaimed Ironweed.

Janet Laurie Perlman is a Canadian animator and children's book author and illustrator whose work includes the short film The Tender Tale of Cinderella Penguin, which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film at the 54th Academy Awards and received a Parents' Choice Award. Her 13 short films have received 60 awards to date. She was married to the late animation producer Derek Lamb. After working with Lamb at the National Film Board of Canada in the 1980s, they formed their own production company, Lamb-Perlman Productions. She is currently a partner in Hulascope Studio, based in Montreal. Perlman has produced animation segments for Sesame Street and NOVA. Working with Lamb, she produced title sequences for the PBS series Mystery!, based on the artwork of Edward Gorey, and was one of the animators for R. O. Blechman's adaptation of The Soldier's Tale for PBS's Great Performances. She has also taught animation at Harvard University, the Rhode Island School of Design and Concordia University. She and Lamb were divorced but remained creative and business partners until his death in 2005.
Amy Kravitz is an independent filmmaker and teacher specializing in abstract animation. She is currently a Professor in the Film Department at the Rhode Island School of Design.

Michaela Pavlátová is a Czech animator, film director and teacher. She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film for Words, Words, Words (1991) and won the Short Film Golden Bear for Repete (1995). As a feminist experimental animator Michaela's work explores themes of sex, gender, philosophy and relationality. Beyond her independent work she worked as the art director for Wildbrain Inc. She currently teaches animation at the Academy of Performing Arts, film and TV School in Prague. Michaela has also taught at the Academy of Arts, Architecture, and Design in Prague, the Academy of Art College, Computer Arts Institute in San Francisco and at Harvard University in Prague.

Dan Golden is a composer and film maker. Golden and fellow producer Daniel Sousa were nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film for the film Feral at the 2014 Academy Awards. Golden is a 1994 alumnus of the Rhode Island School of Design.
Angus MacLane is an American animator, filmmaker and voice actor, best known for his work at Pixar Animation Studios. He co-directed the film Finding Dory (2016) and made his solo feature directorial debut with the Toy Story spin-off film Lightyear (2022). MacLane is also a Lego enthusiast and created the CubeDudes building format and designed a LEGO WALL-E that has become an official set from The Lego Group.

Shri Hanuman Chalisa is a 2013 Indian computer-animated short film rendition of Hanuman Chalisa produced by Charuvi Design Labs and directed by Charuvi Agrawal. It is based on the poem Hanuman Chalisa attributed to Tulsidas. It won the Best Animation Film award the Jaipur Film Fest.
Aikāne is a 2023 animated short film based on a mythical love and adventure story rooted in the Hawaiian tradition of aikāne, or intimate partners of the same sex. The film is directed by Daniel Sousa, Dean Hamer, and Joe Wilson, produced by Kumu Hinaleimoana Wong-Kalu, and executive produced by Judith Light and Daniel Karslake. It premiered at the Animayo and Seattle International Film Festivals, was awarded at multiple children's, indigenous, LGBTQ+ and other film festivals around the world, and qualified for the 96th Academy Awards by winning top jury awards at the New Hampshire and Hawaii International Film Festivals.
