Danielle Wetherup

Danielle Wetherup was president of the Royal Canadian Mint (also known as Master of the Mint) from October 31, 1994, to December 20, 2002. [1] She was the second woman to be named Master of the Mint. Her predecessor, Ruth Hubbard, was the first woman to be appointed Master of the Mint. At the time of the appointment, Wetherup was 53. Prior to the appointment, she was Associate Deputy Minister of the Environment. [2]

Government career

Her government career started in 1973 as a consultant in the Canada U.S. Relations Division, Department of External Affairs. She would later become the co-ordination directorate, Department of Fisheries and the Environment. Other government positions include vice president, professional services for the Canadian International Development Agency from 1988 to 1993. Prior to that, she was director general for natural resources, Indian and Northern Affairs Canada from 1983 to 1988. [2]

Education

Wetherup holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Post-graduate studies in constitutional law were pursued at the London School of Economics. [1]

She also served a two-year term on the Cincinnati City Council prior to her service as mayor, having been elected in 1991. On August 8, 2007, the Charter Committee announced her appointment to fill the unexpired term of council member Jim Tarbell. Qualls was elected to a two-year term on Cincinnati City Council in November 2007, and again in 2009 and 2011. She served as Vice Mayor, the chair of the Budget and Finance Committee, chair of the Livable Communities Committee and chair of the Subcommittee on Major Transportation and Infrastructure Projects.

Rona Ambrose Canadian politician

Ronalee "Rona" Ambrose Veitch is a Canadian former politician who was interim leader of the Conservative Party and the Leader of the Opposition between 2015 and 2017. She was the Conservative Party member of the House of Commons for Sturgeon River—Parkland between 2015 and 2017, and had previously represented Edmonton—Spruce Grove from 2004 to 2015.

Marise Payne Australian politician

Marise Ann Payne is an Australian politician who has been Minister for Foreign Affairs in the Morrison Government since 2018 and Minister for Women since 2019. She has been a Senator for New South Wales since 1997, representing the Liberal Party.

Ian E. Bennett was a Master of the Royal Canadian Mint. He held this position from June 12, 2006 and his mandate was extended to 2014. Patricia OBrien

Patricia O'Brien took up duty as Ambassador of Ireland to France and to Monaco in August 2017. She had served from 2013 as the Permanent Representative (Ambassador) of Ireland to the United Nations and other International Organizations at Geneva. Sandra Hanington was the Master of the Royal Canadian Mint. She was appointed to this position on February 11, 2015 and resigned on July 1, 2018. She was the fourth woman to serve in this capacity. Prior to her appointment, she was a member of the Board of Directors of Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation in 2014. She is also a recognized Canadian philanthropist, having previously served on the board of Kids Help Phone and co-founding Jack.org, a mental health organization. Hanington currently resides in Toronto with her family.

Dame Janet Gwennett Bostwick is a Bahamian lawyer and politician. She entered politics in 1977 with an appointment to the Senate. She was the first woman to serve as acting Prime Minister, first female Attorney General and the first female Member of Parliament in the Bahamas.

Jennifer Camelon is the former interim master of the Royal Canadian Mint, and currently serves as its chief financial officer and senior vice president of finance and administration. She held the position from July 2, 2018, following the resignation of Sandra Hanington, until the appointment of Marie Lemay to the role on January 21, 2019. She was the fifth woman to serve in this capacity, following Ruth Hubbard, Danielle Wetherup, Marguerite Nadeau and Hanington.

Heather Jane Hancock is the Master of St John's College, Cambridge, and assumed the position on 1 October 2020.
