Danjuma Tella Laah (born 16 February 1960) is a Nigerian politician and senator who represented Kaduna South Senatorial District [1] of Kaduna state from 2015 to 2023. [2] [3]

Political career

Laah had been the senator representing Kaduna south senatorial district since 2015. On 23 February 2019, he was re-elected into office having garnered 268,287 defeating Yusuf Barnabas Bala of the All Progressives Congress who had 133,923 votes. [4]

As a senator, he spoke of ways to make peace in southern Kaduna by ensuring that there is no religious barrier between Christians and Muslims. [5]

Bills

Laah sponsored bills at the Nigerian Senate for the establishment of a federal University within the area of his jurisdiction, which is to be known as Federal University of Science and Technology, Manchok. [6] This he sponsored alongside the bill for the establishment of Police College, Tum.

Awards

Laah is a recipient of the DINMA 2009 Award for Accounting when he was serving as the deputy director of Finance and Accounts Division at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Pension Board, Abuja. [7]

Bala Ibn Na'allah is a Nigerian politician and senator. He is representing Kebbi South Senatorial seat in the Senate of Nigeria and was the Deputy Majority leader in the 8th Nigerian senate. On August 29, 2021, Na'allah's eldest son, Abdulkarim Bala Na'Allah was murdered by unknown assailants in his residence in Kaduna state. In 2023, Na'allah lost his reelection to the Senate as he was defeated by Garba Maidoki who polled 75,232 votes while Na'allah scored 70,785.

The 2015 Nigerian Senate election in Kaduna State was held on March 28, 2015, to elect members of the Nigerian Senate to represent Kaduna State. Shehu Sani representing Kaduna Central and Suleiman Othman Hunkuyi representing Kaduna North won on the platform of All Progressives Congress, while Danjuma Laah representing Kaduna South won on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party.
